The objective of the study was to assess the productivity of Sakub ewes exhibiting Suffolk and Texel traits in Pandansari Village, Paguyangan, Brebes, Central Java. The research was done between March and October 2023. The study included a total of 25 farmers who participated as responders. These farmers owned a total of 41 Sakub ewes, which were further categorized into 17 ewes with Suffolk traits and 24 ewes with Texel characteristics. The data acquired encompassed information regarding the characteristics of farmers, their management practices, and the performance of ewes. This data was obtained through interviews and direct field observations. The data were statistically and descriptively evaluated to examine farmer characteristics and management strategies. Additionally, an Independent Sample T-test was used to assess ewe performance. The findings indicated that the farmer characteristics and management strategies employed by Sakub sheep farmers, regardless of whether they exhibited Suffolk or Texel characteristics, were largely similar. The performance of Sakub ewes, which includes factors such as the age at first lambing, litter size, weaning age, weaning weight, postpartum mating, service per conception, birth interval, pre-weaning mortality, ewe reproductive index, and ewe productivity index, was classified as good for both ewes with Suffolk and Texel characteristics. There were no statistically significant differences (p>0.05) in first lambing age, litter size, weaning age, weaning weight, postpartum mating, service per conception, birth interval, pre-weaning mortality, ewe reproductive index, and ewe productivity index between the two groups. Based on the findings, it can be inferred that the performance of Sakub ewes in Pandansari Village, which exhibit traits of Suffolk and Texel breeds, is consistent with a significant level of variance, particularly in terms of weaning age, weaning weight, service per conception, and postpartum mating.
