Penggunaan Metode Pavement Condition Index (PCI) dalam Menentukan Tingkat Kerusakan dan Jenis Pemeliharaan Jalan pada Ruas Jalan Selokan Mataram Yogyakarta

The objectives of this research were to determine the value of road pavement conditions using the PCI method, determine the level of suitability of a road section by knowing the type of damage based on pavement quality classification, and determine the type of maintenance according to the results of research on the Selokan Mataram Yogyakarta road section which is started from Solo Street to close to Hermina hospital that had 4,880 meters long.
This research was quantitative design and determined the value of road pavement conditions using the PCI method. There were two types of data collection techniques, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data was the type of damage, extent of damage, and level of road damage. Secondary data was a location survey and literature review. The data was analyzed by using the PCI method of road condition assessment. So that, the type of road maintenance and repair could be determined.
The result of the research was that the PCI value obtained was 82.41 with a satisfactory rating in the satisfactory category. In general, the result of the condition of the pavement of the Selokan Mataram road section was in satisfactory condition, where damage was relatively minor and road users could pass through it quite easily and contented. However, it would be better if repairs were made. The types of road damage found on the Selokan Mataram road section were alligator cracking, edge cracking, longitudinal/transverse cracking, patching and utility cut patching, potholes, and weathering/raveling. The type of maintenance suitable for the Selokan Mataram road section was periodic maintenance which included relining and overlay activities and hole patching.
