Dinamika Penerimaan Gay Shipping dan Fanfiksi Homoseksual di Media Sosial: Studi Kasus pada ARMY Fans BTS Perempuan di Twitter

Gay shipping adalah salah satu budaya fans yang memasangkan idola dengan jenis kelamin yang sama, namun dalam setiap fandom tidak semua individu menyenangi hal tersebut. Muncul masalah seperti gay fetishizer, homofobik, sampai pecahnya keributan dalam fandom (ship war) yang disebabkan oleh perilaku obsesif shipper dan penolakan terhadap LGBTQ. Gay shipping yang dilakukan fans ini juga hadir dalam fanfiksi yang hidup dalam fandom sejak dahulu. Fanfiksi menyediakan ruang untuk menciptakan kreativitas melalui imajinasi fans terhadap idolanya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis persepsi, pengalaman, dan penerimaan ARMY perempuan mengenai gay shipping dan fanfiksi homoseksual BTS, menggunakan metode Studi Kasus paradigma konstruktivis dan wawancara mendalam untuk melihat keragaman pandangan individu. Dengan pemikiran dan konsep fan culture (gay shipping, fanfiksi) dan partisipasi audiens aktif, peneliti melihat ARMY sebagai penggemar yang aktif berinteraksi dengan media, memiliki latar belakang sosial, dan pengalaman yang beragam, sehingga diperoleh hasil penelitian berupa dinamika persepsi, pengalaman, dan penerimaan ARMY terhadap gay shipping, fiksi homoseksual, serta kehadiran LGBTQ. Dimana latar belakang agama dari informan tidak memengaruhi penerimaan mereka terhadap konten gay shipping dan fiksi homoseksual BTS serta LGBTQ, melainkan perbedaan toleransi antar informan terletak pada konsumsi konten homoseksual dan adanya pengaruh dari lingkungan seperti interaksi dengan komunitas LGBTQ.

Gay shipping is one of the fan cultures that pairs idols with the same gender, but in every fandom not all individuals are happy with it. Problems such as gay fetishizers, homophobes, and outbreaks of fandom violence (ship wars) are caused by shipper's obsessive behavior and rejection of LGBTQ people. Gay shipping by fans is also present in fanfiction that has lived in the fandom for a long time. Fanfiction provides a space to create creativity through fans' imagination of their idols. The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze female ARMYs' perceptions, experiences, and acceptance of BTS' gay shipping and homosexual fanfiction, using the constructivist paradigm Case Study method and in-depth interviews to see the diversity of individual views. With the thoughts and concepts of fan culture (gay shipping, fanfiction) and active audience participation, the researcher sees ARMY as fans who actively interact with the media, have diverse social backgrounds and experiences, so that the research results are obtained in the form of the dynamics of ARMY's perceptions, experiences, and acceptance of gay shipping, homosexual fiction, and LGBTQ presence. Whereas the religious background of the informants does not affect their acceptance of gay shipping content and BTS homosexual fanfiction and LGBTQ, the difference in tolerance between informants lies in the consumption of homosexual content and the influence of the environment such as interaction with the LGBTQ community.
