PERAN HUTAN RAKYAT TERHADAP KELANGSUNGAN HIDUP PETANI HUTAN (Studi Kasus Di Desa Mangunan, Kab. Bantul)

Rutan di Indonesia saat ini banyak mengalami kerusakan oleh tangan manusia yang menyebabkan kebutuhan kayu kurang bisa terpenuhi, sehingga perlu adanya upaya pelestarian hutan baik dari segi ekonomi maupun ekologis. Upaya tersebut bisa dilakukan di hutan rakyat, dengan melakukan pengelolaan hutan yang baik dan benar. Dengan sistem agroforestry yang diterapkan masyarakat, mereka mendapatkan banyak manfaat dari hutan rakyat tersebut guna mencukupi kebutuhan hidup mereka sehari-hari. Salah satu daerah yang menerapkan sistem agroforestry ini di Desa Mangunan, Kecamatan Dlingo, Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manfaat hutan rakyat bagi masyarakat, mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengelolaan hutan rakyat serta kontribusinya terhadap pendapatan petani, dan menyajikan altematif pengembangan hutan rakyat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei dengan teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara dan kuisioner. Unit analisis penelitian adalah petani hutan rakyat Desa Mangunan. Dari basil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa hutan rakyat selain memiliki manfaat ekologi, juga bermanfaat dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup masyarakat; faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengelolaan hutan rakyat yaitu mata pencaharian, pendidikan, umur, jumlah tanggungan keluarga, dan pemilikan lahan petani. Kontribusi hutan rakyat terhadap pendapatan petani cukup besar walau bukan yang utama, yang terdiri dari sawah sebesar 44,26 %, pekarangan sebesar 8,04 %, tegalan sebesar 27,59 %, dari sektor petemakan sebesar 6,27 % dan dari non pertanian masyarakat sebesar 13,84 %. Altematif yang bisa digunakan dalam pengembangan hutan rakyat dengan perbaikan pola distribusi pemasaran hasil hutan rakyat yang lebih efektif, serta adanya pembukaan wisata alam.

Recently, forest in Indonesia was damaged because of human mistake that caused the needs of wood cannot fulfilled, so it needs an effort to conserve the forest in economic or ecological aspect. Those efforts can be done in the community forest by organizing the forest effectively. They will get many advantages from the community forest to fulfill their daily life needs by applying the agroforestry system to the community. One of the areas that applied this agroforestry system is Mangunan village, Dlingo sub district, Bantul regency. The aims ofthis research are to know the advantages of the community forest to the community, to know the factors that influence how to organize the community forest and to know the community forest's contribution toward farmer income, and gave some other alternative to develop the community forest. The method of the research is survey with data collection technique through interview and questionnaire. The subject of the research is farmer of community forest in Mangunan village. The findings show that the community forest has ecology advantages and influence to the community fulfillment of life needs; the factors that influence in organize the community forest are livelihood, education, age, number of family that should given finance responsibility, and ownership of the field. The contribution of community forest toward farmer income are high, it is divided to 44.26 % of field, 8.04 % of yard, 27.59 % of dry field, 6.27 % of animal husbandry, and 13.84 % of non-farmer community. The alternative ways that can be done to develop the community forest is improving the distribution system of community forest product more effectively and opening the nature resort.
