PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT DESA SUMBERAGUNG TERHADAP ALIH FUNGSI HUTAN LINDUNG GUNUNG TUMPANGPITU MENJADI AREAL PERTAMBANGAN

Hutan di Gunung Tumpangpitu merupakn salah satu hutan lindung yang berfungsi sebagai penyangga kehidupan manusia di sekitarnya. Rencana alih fungsi Hutan Lindung Gunung Tumpangpitu menjadi areal pertambangan menimbulkan berbagai persepsi masyarakat. Persepsi ini dipengaruhi oleh motivasi masyarakat untuk melestarikan hutan lindung tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui motivasi masyarakat untuk melestarikan Hutan Lindung Gunung Tumpangpitu, 2) mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi masyarakat dengan prinsip kelestarian hutan lindung. Pendekatan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah tipe eksplanatif, fungsinya untuk menentukan hubungan antara variabel persepsi terhadap prinsip kelestarian hutan, dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier sederhana. Metode dasar yang digunakan adalah metode survei, dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Data primer yang dikumpulkan meliputi persepsi, manfaat, motivasi, dan faktor ekonomi responden. Data sekunder yang dikumpulkan meliputi monografi Desa Sumberagung, data jumlah penduduk desa, peta Desa Sumberagung, dan peta kawasan pertambangan Hutan Lindung Gunung Tumpangpitu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memiliki motivasi yang tinggi (76,92%) untuk melestarikan Hutan Lindung Gunung Tumpangpitu. Persentase masyarakat yang memiliki persepsi rendah terhadap alih fungsi hutan lindung (51,28%) seimbang dengan persentase masyarakat yang memiliki persepsi tinggi terhadap alih fungsi hutan lindung tersebut (48,72%). Hasil uji regresi tinier sederhana menunjukkan bahwa persepsi masyarakat berpengaruh terhadap prinsip kelestarian hutan lindung.

Forest in Tumpangpitu Mountain is one of the protected forest which support human live around it. The conservation planning of Tumpangpitu Protected Forest become mining area create many perceptions. Those perceptions were influenced by society's motivation to conserve that protected forest. The purposes of this research were 1) to know villagers motivation to conserve Tumpangpitu Mountain Protected Forest, 2) to know the relation between villager's perception and the principle of conserving protected forest. An explanasive type approximation method by using simple linear regression analysis was used in this research to determine relation between perception variable and the principle of conserving protected forest variable. Basic method used here was survey method by questionnaire. Primary data collected in this research were perception, forest utility, motivation, and economical factor of respondents. Secondary data consisted of the monograph of Sumberagung Village, the data of amount of viUagers, the map of Sumberagung Village, and the mining area map of Tumpangpitu Mountain Protected Forest. Result of this research indicated that the villagers have high motivation (76,92%) to conserve Tumpangpitu Mountain Protected Forest. The percentage of villager who had low perception of the change function of protected forest (51,28%) was balance with the percentage of villager in high perception of the change function of protected forest ( 48, 72% ). The result of simple linear regression analysis showed that villager's perception influenced the principle of conserving protected forest.
