Disjunct denture sebagai splinting gigi goyah pada kasus Kennedy Klas I :: Laporan kasus

Kehilangan gigi bila tidak diganti akan menyebabkan bergesernya gigi tetangga ke arah daerah yang kosong karena adanya perubahan struktur tulang rahang. Tujuan laporan kasus adalah untuk mengetahui disjunct denture sebagai splinting gigi goyah pada kasus Kennedy kelas I. Laporan kasus dilakukan pada pasien laki-laki berumur 75 tahun dengan sisa gigi tertinggal 2 1 1 2 3 4 mengalami goyah derajat dua. Rehabilitasi pasien dilakukan dengan memakai Gigi Tiruan Lengkap rahang atas dan disjunct denture rahang bawah. Disjunct denture berupa Gigi Tiruan Sebagian Lepasan yang terdiri dari dua bagian terpisah, yaitu bagian tooth borne dan mucosa borne. Bagian pertama berupa kerangka logam yang berfungsi sebagai splinting yang mempertahankan gigi yang masih tinggal sedangkan bagian kedua berupa Gigi Tiruan Sebagian resin akrilik dengan lingual bar yang menggantikan gigi yang hilang. Hasil dari laporan kasus adalah pasien dapat memakai disjunct denture tanpa menyebabkan gigi yang masih tinggal bertambah goyah. Kesimpulan dari laporan kasus ini adalah disjunct denture dengan dua bagian terpisah dapat sebagai splinting untuk mempertahankan gigi tinggal yang goyah dan keberhasilan perawatan disjunct denture diperoleh dengan kerjasama yang baik antara dokter gigi, pasien, dan laboratorium yang berpengalaman.

When loss of the teeth is not changed, it could cause side of teeth move to the edentulous area. This is caused by support of jawbone structure alteration. The aim of the case report is to know disjunct denture as splinting for maintaining the residue of mobile teeth in the Class I of Kennedy Case. Case Report was done to 75 years old male patient by the remain of mobile teeth 2 1 1 2 3 4 that experiencing mobile of second degree. Rehabilitating of patient was done by using complete denture of upper jaw and disjunct denture of lower jaw. Disjunct Denture in the form of partial denture was consisted of two separate parts, namely tooth borne and mucosa borne. The first part was metal frame that function as splinting for maintaining remain of the teeth and the second part was partial denture resin acrylic with lingual bar for changing the loss teeth. The result of this case report showed that the patient can use without causing the remain of growing mobile teeth. Conclusion from this case report is disjunct denture by two separate parts that can be as splinting for maintaining the remain of mobile teeth and success of the treatment of disjunct denture is obtained by the good cooperation among dentist, patient, and experienced laboratory.
