Perbandingan Pemberian Pendidikan Kesehatan Menggunakan Video Animasi dan Demonstrasi dengan Program Pengembangan Diri terhadap Kemampuan Melakukan Tindakan Menstrual Hygiene pada Remaja Disabilitas Intelektual di SLB Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta

Latar belakang: Remaja disabilitas intelektual mengalami kelemahan proses persepsi,
sehingga memerlukan bimbingan dalam perawatan diri. Salah satu perkembangan
masa remaja adalah menstruasi. Pemahaman tentang menstruasi telah diajarkan dalam
materi program pengembangan diri di sekolah, namun masih banyak ditemukan
masalah terkait menstrual hygiene.
Untuk itu peneliti bermaksud meneliti perbandingan pendidikan kesehatan
menggunakan video animasi dan demonstrasi dengan program pengembangan diri terhadap
kemampuan menstrual hygiene.
Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui perbandingan pengaruh
pemberian pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan video animasi dan demonstrasi (I?) dengan
program pengembangan diri (I?) terhadap kemampuan menstrual hygiene
remaja disabilitas intelektual.
Metode: Penelitian kuantitatif intervensi dengan
desain before after (pre-post studies), secara purposive sampling, 33 orang kelompok
I? sebelum penelitian telah mendapatkan materi tentang menstruasi dengan
frekuensi tidak teratur, dan 33 responden kelompok I? sebelum penelitian telah
mendapatkan materi tentang menstruasi 2 minggu sekali di sekolah. Kelompok I? mendapat
intervensi 4x, interval 1 minggu, post test
dilakukan 1 minggu setelah intervensi ke-4, lama penelitian 1 bulan. Kelompok
I? mendapat intervensi 2x, interval 2 minggu, post
test dilakukan 2 minggu setelah intervensi ke-2, lama penelitian 1 bulan.
Instrumen video animasi dan lembar observasi telah dilakukan uji validitas. Analisis
menggunakan uji Mann
Whitney untuk membandingkan kedua kelompok.
Hasil: Pada
kedua kelompok hasil pre test dan post test mengalami peningkatan
skor kemampuan melakukan tindakan menstrual hygiene, kelompok I? dari
nilai median pre test 43,00 menjadi post test 70,00, kelompok I?
dari nilai median pre test 35,00 menjadi post test 46,00, lebih
lanjut kelompok I? memiliki selisih median lebih tinggi yaitu 27,00
dibandingkan kelompok I? yaitu 11,00.
Kesimpulan: Peningkatan skor kemampuan lebih
tinggi secara signifikan pada kelompok video animasi dan demonstrasi (I?), namun adanya durasi waktu yang berbeda
pada kedua kelompok kemungkinan dapat memengaruhi hasil penelitian. Video animasi dan demonstrasi dapat menjadi
alternatif media pembelajaran tentang menstrual hygiene bagi
disabilitas intelektual.

Background: Adolescents with intellectual
disabilities experience weaknesses in the perception process, so they need
guidance in self-care. One of the developments during adolescence is
menstruation. Understanding menstruation has been taught in self-development
program materials at schools, but there are still many problems related to
menstrual hygiene. For this reason, researchers intend to examine the
comparison of health education using animated videos and demonstrations with
self-development programs on menstrual hygiene skills.
Objective: To find out the comparison of the
effect of providing health education using animated videos and demonstrations
(I?) with self-development programs (I?) on the menstrual hygiene abilities of
adolescents with intellectual disabilities.
Method: Quantitative intervention research with a
before after design (pre-post studies), using purposive sampling, 33 people in
group I? before the study had received material about menstruation with
irregular frequency, and 33 respondents in group I? before the study had
received material about menstruation every 2 weeks at school. Group I? received
4x intervention, 1 week interval, post-test was carried out 1 week after the
4th intervention, study duration was 1 month. Group I? received 2x
intervention, 2week interval, post-test was carried out 2 weeks after the 2nd
intervention, study duration was 1 month. The animated video instruments and
observation sheets have been tested for validity. Analysis used the Mann
Whitney test to compare the two groups.
Results: In both groups, the pre-test and
post-test results experienced an increase in the ability score to carry out
menstrual hygiene measures, group I? from a median pre-test score of 43,00 to a
post-test of 70,00, group I? from a median pre-test score of 35,00 to a
post-test of 46,00, furthermore group I? has a higher median difference, namely
27,00, compared to group I?, namely 11,00.
Conclusion: The increase in ability scores was
significantly higher in the animation and demonstration video group (I?), but
the different time durations in the two groups could possibly influence the
research results. Animation videos and demonstrations can be alternative media
for learning about menstrual hygiene for intellectual disabilities.
