Irak Pasca Invasi Amerika Dalam Novel Tasysyari: Konstruksi Ruang Pascakolonial Sara Upstone

Invasi Amerika Serikat ke Irak pada tahun 2003 telah meninggalkan dampak bagi masyarakat. Berbagai konflik muncul setelah invasi Amerika. Konflik menyebabkan jutaan orang meninggal dan jutaan lainnya mengungsi. Melalui tragedi ini, In`?m Kachachi seorang penulis dari Irak mengisahkan kondisi keluarga Irak yang terdampak konflik. Dalam novelnya yang berjudul ?asysy?ri, In’?m Kachachi menceritakan tentang keluarga Irak yang terpaksa mengungsi akibat konflik. Secara fisik, pengungsi telah berhasil selamat dari konflik. Akan tetapi, secara mental mereka masih menemukan berbagai ketidakadilan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kolonialisasi di Irak tidak hanya dalam bentuk fisik, tetapi sudah menjadi narasi dan gagasan dalam kehidupan sosial. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap konstruksi ruang asal, ruang tujuan migrasi, dan ruang alternatif yang ditawarkan oleh In`?m Kachachi dalam novel ?asysy?ri. Masalah tersebut akan dijelaskan dengan menggunakan teori politik ruang Sara Upstone. Metode penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif analisis, yakni dengan mengikuti prosedur membangun masalah, menentukan data dan menganalisis data dalam prespektif teori politik ruang Sara Upstone. 

Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat konstruksi ruang kolonial pada ruang bangsa dan ruang rumah yang terjadi bersama kekerasan dan pengaruh kekuasaan Amerika. Terdapat dua alternatif solusi yang ditawarkan oleh penulis pascakolonial, yaitu perjalanan dengan tujuan pernikahan dan kedua perjalanan dengan berbekalkan keterampilan. Kedua motif perjalanan dapat menghapus tatanan (border) kolonial tentang masyarakat Irak. Kedua alternatif ini ditawarkan sebagai penataan ulang (revision) tatanan masyarakat dan representasi terhadap narasi kolonial.

The United States invasion of Iraq in 2003 has left an impact on society. Various conflicts arose after the American invasion. The conflict caused millions of people to die and millions more to displace. Through this tragedy, In'?m Kachachi, a writer from Iraq, tells the condition of Iraqi families affected by the conflict. In his novel ?asysy?ri, In'?m Kachachi tells the story of an Iraqi family who were forced to flee due to the conflict. Physically, refugees have managed to survive the conflict. However, mentally they still find various injustices. This shows that colonization in Iraq is not only in physical form, but has become a narrative and an idea in social life.  Therefore, this research aims to uncover the construction of the origin space, the migration destination space, and the alternative space offered by In'?m Kachachi in the novel ?asysy?ri. The problem will be explained using Sara Upstone's spatial political theory. This research method is descriptive analysis, namely by following the procedure of building problems, determining data and analyzing data in the perspective of Sara Upstone's spatial political theory.

This research shows that there is a construction of colonial space in the national space and home space that occurs with violence and the influence of American power. There are two alternative solutions offered by postcolonial writers, namely travel with the purpose of marriage and the second trip with skills. Second, the travel motive can erase the colonial order (border) about Iraqi society. These two alternatives are offered as a revision of the social order and a representation of the colonial narrative.
