Pohon Legaran yang baik yaitu mempunyai sifat kenampakan fenotip diameter batang besar, bentuk batang lurus, batang bebas cabang tinggi, akan menghasilkan kayu yang baik. Metode untuk mewujudkan hasil tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan program pemuliaan pohon, dan salah satu caranya yaitu dengan uji keturunan dari pohon- pohon yang mempunyai kenampak:a1.1 fenotip yang baik. Pohon dengan fenotip baik tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor genetik atau faktor lingkungan. Penelitian uji keturunan Legaran ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persen hidup semai, mengetahui variasi pertumbuhan tinggi, pertumbuhan diameter dan jumlah ru

A good Legaran tree which have fenotipe appearance such as big diameter stem, straight stem, high free branch stem, will produces good wood. The method to realize that result can be done by glorification tree program, one way is generative test from the trees which have good fenotipe appearance. A tree with good fenotipe influenced by genetic factor or environment factor. Legaran generative test research aims to know the percentage seedling grow, height grow variation, diameter grow and the number of shell seedling inter-family, height grow variation, diameter and number shell seedling between seed sources and heritability value, genetic correlation inter-height grow · parameter, diameter growth and number seedling shell J month age. The result of the shows seedling adaptation is high enough, it seems from percentage seedling grow amount 95%. Height growth and diameter inter-family shows significant differences with the best seed seedlot 28 and the worst 104. In other hand, height growth and number shell inter-seed sources do not show significant differences. Heritability appraisal value for height amount 0.63, diameter growth 0.37. Results of genetic height and diameter growth correlation amount 0.83, height growth and number of shells amount 0.45, and for diameter growth and shells 0.5.
