Estimasi Cadangan Klaim IBNR (Incurred But Not Reported) dengan Metode Benktander-Hovinen

Perusahaan asuransi membutuhkan cadangan klaim IBNR (Inccured But Not Reported) dalam menjalankan operasionalnya. Dalam perhitungan cadangan klaim IBNR, tentunya lebih baik apabila hasil yang diperoleh mendekati nilai riilnya. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan metode yang tepat dalam mengestimasi cadangan klaim IBNR. Metode Benktander-Hovinen merupakan salah satu metode dalam pencadangan klaim IBNR. Metode ini merupakan penggabungan dari metode ChainLadder dan Bornhuetter-Ferguson. Pada skripsi ini akan dibahas mengenai estimasi cadangan klaim IBNR menggunakan metode Benktander-Hovinen. Hasil estimasi dari metode ini kemudian akan dibandingkan dengan hasil estimasi menggunakan
metode Chain-Ladder dan Bornhuetter-Ferguson. Perbandingan tersebut akan dilakukan menggunakan kriteria prediction error yaitu MSEP, MAPE, dan MAD. Dengan metode Benktander-Hovinen, diperoleh hasil estimasi cadangan klaim IBNR yang lebih mendekati nilai riil. Dengan kata lain, metode Benktander-Hovinen menghasilkan estimasi yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan metode Chain-Ladder dan Bornhuetter-Ferguson.

Insurance companies need IBNR (Incurred But Not Reported) claim reserves in carrying out their operations. In calculating IBNR claim reserves, it is
better if the results obtained are closer to the real value. Therefore, an appropriate method is needed in estimating IBNR claim reserves. The Benktander-Hovinen method is one of the methods to do this estimation. This method combines another two methods: Chain-Ladder and Bornhuetter-Ferguson method. This thesis will discuss the estimation of IBNR claim reserves using the Benktander-Hovinen method. The estimation results of this method will then be compared with the estimation results using the Chain-Ladder and Bornhuetter-Ferguson methods. The comparison will be carried out using prediction error criteria, respectively MSEP, MAPE, and MAD. The estimated IBNR claim reserves using Benktander-Hovinen method is found to have closer results to the real value. In other words, the BenktanderHovinen method produces better estimation compared to the Chain-Ladder and Bornhuetter-Ferguson methods.
