Regional development efforts in Aceh Province, especially in the socio-economic sector, have had a real impact which is reflected in reducing death and birth rates as well as increasing life expectancy, causing population aging. Developments that are occurring are not running evenly throughout the region. We need to be aware that the term "being not ready to get old" will occur in several regencies/cities in Aceh Province, so this research aims to analyze the distribution of population aging at the district/city level in Aceh Province in 2010 and 2020. analyze the condition of socio-economic development indicators (HDI, GRDP per capita, open unemployment rate, and life expectancy) with population aging between regencies/cities in Aceh Province in 2010 and 2020 and analyze the relationship between socio-economic development indicators (HDI, GRDP per capita, unemployment rate open, and life expectancy) with population aging between regencies/cities in Aceh Province.
This type of research is quantitative with the unit of analysis used being the elderly population aged 60 years and over in 23 regencies/cities in Aceh Province who were observed from 2010 to 2020. The data collection technique uses documentation sourced from secondary data, namely publications BPS (Central Statistics Agency). The analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, Klassen typology and Spearman rank correlation.
The findings of this research are (1) The aging of the regencies/cities population in Aceh Province can be seen based on the increase in the percentage of elderly people in 2010 and 2020 in Aceh Province by 2.4% and they are already in the early aging stage (mid-aged) (2) In 2020, there were 6 regencies/cities whose socio-economic conditions were in the good category, 11 regencies/cities whose socio-economic conditions were in the medium category and 6 regencies/cities whose socioeconomic conditions were in the low category (3) There was no significant relationship between socio-economic conditions and aging. residents of districts/cities in Aceh Province. This is because not all regencies/cities have socioeconomic conditions in the good category with rapid population aging, such as Banda Aceh. There are also regencies/cities that have socio-economic conditions in the low category but have entered the premature aging category, such as Aceh Selatan. This is also reinforced by the results of analysis using the Klassen typology that the development of the 23 city districts is not in the fast-growing and fastgrowing areas.
