PENAKSIRAN POTENSI KAYU PERKAKAS DAN KAYU BAKAR JENIS JATI DAN MAHONI DI HUTAN RAKYAT DESA BANGUNCIPTO KABUPATEN KULON PROGO

Pembangunan hutan rakyat pada awalnya bertujuan untuk mengatasi lahan tidak produktif. Peningkatan permintaan kayu perkakas dari industri dan masyarakat, menyebabkan pengelolaan hutan rakyat pada saat ini lebih menekankan pada motivasi ekonomi. Informasi tentang potensi hutan rakyat menjadi sangat penting untuk pengaturan hasil kayu sehingga kelestarian hutan rakyat dapat terjaga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menaksir potensi kayu perkakas dan kayu bakar dari hutan rakyat. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, dilakukan inventarisasi terhadap 30 sampel petak hutan rakyat milik responden. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara terarah (purposive sampling). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa potensi kayu perkakas jenis jati di hutan rakyat sebesar 78,0212 m3/ha , dan potensi kayu bakar jati sebesar 23,4903 m3/ha. Untuk jenis mahoni, potensi kayu perkakas yang diperoleh sebesar 4,3915 m3/ha dan potensi kayu bakar sebesar 0,9523 m3/ha.

At first, community forest was developed to overcome unproductive land. The increase of merchantable wood demands caused the manage of community forest emphasized on economic motivation. The information of community forest potency is important for forest product management, to sustain the community forest. Research was done to estimate merchantable and fire wood potency of community forest. For the purpose, inventory was done in the community forest sites of 30 respondents. Method used for collecting the respondent is purposive sampling. The result of this research show the merchantable wood volume for jati equal 78,0212 m 3/ha, and fire wood volume equal 23,4903 m3/ha. The merchantable wood volume for mahoni equal 4,3915 m3/ha , and fire wood volume equal 0,9523 m 3/ha.
