Background: Ovarian cancer has the worst prognosis and the highest mortality rate. Prognosis is related to the patient's quality of life. A good prognosis will generally have an impact on a good quality of life. The patient's clinical data and histopathological type of ovarian cancer have an impact on the patient's quality of life, thereby influencing the prognosis. This study aims to determine the relationship between clinico histopathological factors and the quality of life of post-operative ovarian cancer patients at RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta
Method: This research is a relationship analysis study with a prospective study design in ovarian cancer sufferers at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. Subjects were all ovarian cancer patients who underwent primary surgery in August 2022 – August 2023 at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. Subject data that meets the inclusion criteria will then be collected and data processing will be carried out.
Results: Based on the data obtained, there were a total of 43 ovarian cancer samples that underwent primary surgery at Dr. RSUP. Sardjito. The quality of life was found to be mostly in the high quality of life category, 25 patients (58.14%) with an average quality of life score of 86.33 and the remaining 18 patients in the low quality of life category (41.86%) with an average quality of life score of 53.41. It was found that clinico histopathological factors (stage and tumor residue) had a statistically significant relationship with the quality of life of post-operative ovarian cancer patients at Dr. Sardjito with the results of each stage factor being p=0.001 (RR 3.375, 95% CI 1.578 – 7.219), residual tumor factor p=0.031 (RR 2.327, 95% CI 1.241 – 4.363).
Conclusion: There is a relationship between clinicohistopathological factors (tumor stage and tumor residue) and the quality of life of post-operative ovarian cancer patients at RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta, statistically the bivariate test has a clinically significant relationship.
