This research explores the effects of citizen participation on government response, focusing on a case study of "Info Cegatan Jogja" (ICJ) in Yogyakarta. It discusses how citizen participation, particularly through citizen journalism and social media, influences decision-making processes, transparency, and accountability in governance. The study aims to investigate the effect of ICJ on government responsiveness by analyzing the group's activities and contributions. The research seeks to provide new perspectives from ICJ members and founders and interesting findings during the research such as government inaction, aiming to inform citizens in Yogyakarta. The significance of the study lies in its potential to enhance understanding of citizen journalism's role in shaping government responses, contributing to media and technology studies, governance, and civic participation. Additionally, the research may lead to improvements in government responsiveness, increased civic engagement, and the strengthening of democratic principles in Yogyakarta.
