Fenomena El Nino pada tahun 2023 telah memberikan dampak yang signifikan terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan. Salah satu aspek menonjol yang terdampak adalah penurunan ekonomi. Dampak tersebut juga dialami oleh petani Desa Ketep yang terkenal dengan tanaman hortikulturanya telah mengalami kerugian atas penurunan produksi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi seperti apa dampak kerugian yang terjadi akibat fenomena El-Nino dan menelisik upaya petani dalam bertahan di tengah kondisi sulit akibat fenomena El-Nino. Studi ini melibatkan lima partisipan dan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Proses pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Studi ini menemukan bahwasanya kerugian atas penurunan produksi melebihi kerugian yang terjadi pada tahun sebelumnya. Untuk dapat bertahan dari belenggu situasi yang ada, petani menerapkan strategi. Strategi yang digunakan oleh petani selama fenomena El Nino berlangsung adalah strategi adaptasi seni bertani. Namun pada kenyataannya, strategi ini mengandung polemik petani yang ditemui dalam sebuah komunitas.

The El Nino phenomenon in 2023 has had a significant impact on various aspects of life. One of the prominent aspects affected is the economic decline. This impact is also experienced by Ketep Village farmers who are famous for their horticultural crops have suffered losses due to decreased production. This study aims to explore what the impact of losses incurred due to the El-Nino phenomenon is and to examine the efforts of farmers in surviving in the midst of difficult conditions due to the El-Nino phenomenon. This study involved five participants and used a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and literature review. This study found that the loss of production exceeded the loss that occurred in the previous year. To be able to survive the shackles of the existing situation, farmers implement strategies. The strategy used by farmers during the El Nino phenomenon is the adaptation strategy of the art of farming. But in reality, this strategy contains polemics of farmers found in a community.
