Peningkatan hasil tembakau Flue C Ured dengan penambahan nitrogen

Tobacco has become one of the most economically important agriculture crops in the world. About 80 % of the world tobacco production crop was allocated for cigarette industries. This industry utilized of tobacco leaf materials of flue cured, burley and oriental types. To supply the demand of these industries, the tobacco production should be increased from year to year in the future . The aim of this research was to increase the yield of flue cured tobacco by nitrogen fertilization addition . The experiment was conducted at Training and Research Development Field of Sadhana Arif Nusa Station Terara East Lombok from May until September 2003 in The Lombok Central Tobacco Crop Production. The site of the experiment was on a rice field irrigation with regosol near The Terara Secondary School, Terara, East Lombok. The altitude is about 150 –200 m above sea level The design was split-plot with 2 varieties ( Coker 176 and Hybrid ) as the main plot and the 4 rates of nitrogen fertilizer addition ( 100 kg ; 150 kg; 200 kg and 250 kg /ha KNO3 ) were the subplots. The fertilizer was side dressed at 4 weeks after transplanting by putting in the hole between rows. Results of the experiment showed that : 1. Application of nitrogen fertilizer at the rates of 100 – 250 kg KNO3/ha significantly increased the yield of both flue cured tobacco cultivars. 2. Nitrogen fertilizer addition up to 250 kg KNO3/ha increased the flue cured yield in linearly manner. 3. The yield of hybrid cultivar was higher when compared those of Coker 176, at the same rate of nitrogen fertilizer. Key words : nitrogen addition ; yield ; Flue cured tobacco .
