The mosque as a place of worship is an important space for a community and is often designed as a semi-open space to accommodate a large number of worshippers. However, the semi-open space design poses several challenges. With its unique concept, the Al-Mustadam Mosque, which has a perforated wall structure, presents a challenge in ensuring the comfort of the worship space during the design and construction phase.
The research method involved direct measurements, with reference points established through an analysis of the mosque's layout. Measurements were taken using an Envirometer to assess the sound, light, and temperature levels in the indoor environment of the mosque. Subsequently, contour mapping was conducted using Surfer 11 software based on the collected data. The analysis focused on the fulfillment of standard of the variables and the influence of the building envelope.
After measurement and analysis, the average temperature, sound pressure level (SPL), and light intensity of Masjid Al-Mustadam are 30.17°C, 51.08 dB, and 50.04 lux, respectively. However, 2 out of 3 building comfort standards are still not met. These results cannot be the sole determinant of comfort, as other parameters need to be considered. The building envelope of Masjid Al-Mustadam also plays an important role, with its unique facade providing airflow that can aid thermal and acoustic comfort. Additionally, the presence of numerous and large openings helps facilitate natural light ingress
