CHILDFREE SEBAGAI BENTUK OTONOMI TUBUH PEREMPUAN DITINJAU DENGAN ETIKA FEMINISME VIRGINIA HELD

Judul penelitian ini adalah Childfree sebagai Bentuk Otonomi Tubuh Perempuan Ditinjau dengan Etika Feminisme Virginia Held.  Childfree berkaitan erat dengan otonomi tubuh perempuan dalam sistem patriarki dan konsepsi motherhood di masyarakat. Etika feminisme Virginia Held sebagai objek formal untuk meninjau childfree sebagai bentuk otonomi tubuh perempuan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan problematika moral yang dihadapi perempuan tentang ketubuhan dalam keputusan childfree di tengah stigma masyarakat patriarki dan menganalisis pandangan etika feminisme Virginia Held terkait otonomi tubuh perempuan dalam keputusan childfree.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif-deskriptif dengan menggunakan data pustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian masalah faktual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode hermeneutika untuk menafsirkan data kepustakaan yang terkait dengan topik penelitian ini. Bahan penelitian menggunakan data-data pustaka, sumber dari internet, dan jurnal nasional maupun internasional terkait. Dalam analisis hasil menggunakan unsur-unsur metodis berupa deskripsi, interpretasi, holistika, dan refleksi kritis.

Hasil penelitian ini ada dua. Pertama, keputusan childfree di tengah stigma masyarakat patriarki menimbulkan problematika moral bagi tubuh perempuan, yang dipicu oleh norma gender patriarki yang mengonstruksi seksualitas perempuan berupa motherhood mandate. Problematika moral muncul tidak hanya karena stigma negatif masyarakat patriarki terhadap keputusan childfree, tetapi juga karena pembatasan otonomi perempuan dalam membuat pilihan terkait tubuhnya, yakni keputusan childfree. Kedua, Held menyatakan bahwa aktivitas maternal merupakan tindakan moral karena merupakan tujuan moralitas yang dipilih secara sadar melibatkan kepedulian sebagai aspek emosionalitas. Oleh karena itu, aktivitas maternal tidak bersifat alamiah sehingga perempuan memiliki otonomi atas tubuh dan pilihan hidupnya, termasuk keputusan untuk childfree.

The title of this research is Childfree as a Form of Women's Bodily Autonomy Reviewed by Virginia Held's Feminist Ethics. Childfree is closely related to women's bodily autonomy in the patriarchal system and the conception of motherhood in society. Virginia Held's feminist ethics as a formal object for reviewing childfree as a form of female bodily autonomy. The aim of this research is to describe the moral problems faced by women regarding their bodies in the childfree phenomenon amidst the stigma of a patriarchal society and to analyze the ethical views of feminist Virginia Held regarding women's bodily autonomy in the childfree phenomenon.

This research is qualitative-descriptive research using library data. This research uses a factual problem research model. This research uses the hermeneutic method to interpret literature data related to this research topic. Research materials use library data, internet sources, and related national and international journals. In analyzing the results, methodical elements are used in the form of description, interpretation, holistic, and critical reflection.

There are two results from this research. First, the decision to be childfree amidst the stigma of a patriarchal society creates moral problems for women's bodies, which are triggered by patriarchal gender norms that construct women's sexuality in the form of a motherhood mandate. Moral problems arise not only because of the negative stigma of patriarchal society towards childfree decisions but also because of restrictions on women's autonomy in making choices regarding their bodies, namely childfree decisions. Second, Held states that maternal activity is a moral act because it is a consciously chosen goal of morality that involves caring as an aspect of emotionality. Therefore, maternal activities are not natural, so women have autonomy over their bodies and life choices, including the decision to be childfree.
