Olahraga Sebagai Sarana Representasi: Eksistensi St. Pauli FC pada Era Neoliberalisme Sepak Bola di Jerman

St. Pauli FC menjadi klub yang
terkenal karena sangat inklusif terhadap keberagaman pendukungnya. Meskipun
tidak berlaga pada kasta tertinggi di Liga Jerman, klub ini tetap eksis melalui
pandangan humanismenya. Pandangan berbeda tersebut yang membuat klub ini
memiliki pembeda terhadap klub-klub konvensional lainnya, terutama di Eropa.
Inklusifitas St. Pauli FC tidak serta merta terbentuk begitu saja, tetapi ada
proses yang panjang mengenai representasi kelas masyarakat di distrik tersebut.
Berawal dengan distrik tersebut merupakan kawasan kelas pekerja pada abad ke
sembilan belas hingga kelompok otonom yang muncul pasca perang dunia kedua.
Melalui representasi budaya yang ada di distrik tersebut, klub dan pendukung
dari St. Pauli FC mencoba menentang budaya induk yang ada di sepak bola Eropa.
Mereka melakukannya dengan cara mengambil alih kepengurusan klub secara
kolektif, tidak ada posisi dan kekuatan yang terpusat dalam pengambilan
keputusan klub tersebut. Selaras dengan peraturan 50+1 pada sepak bola Jerman
yang memberikan mereka landasan dan wadah bagi masyarakat untuk
merepresentasikan diri terhadap sepak bola.
St. Pauli FC is a club known for
being very inclusive of the diversity of its supporters. Despite not competing
in the highest caste in the German League, the club still exists through its
humanist views. This different view makes this club different from other
conventional clubs, especially in Europe. The inclusiveness of St. Pauli FC did
not just happen, but there was a long process of class representation in the
district. From the district being a working-class area in the nineteenth
century to the autonomous groups that emerged after the second world war.
Through cultural representations in the district, the club and supporters of
St. Pauli FC tried to challenge the master culture of European football. They
do so by taking over the management of the club collectively, there is no
centralized position and power in the club's decision-making. This is in line
with the 50+1 rule in German football which gives them a platform for the
community to represent themselves in football.
