The massive growth of urbanization has affected to the transportation condition. The growth of the number of people, followed by the growth of activities, has produced a transportation problem. Sustainable urban transportation has become the latest and the most comprehensive approach to tackling the urban transportation problem. This principle tackles the social, economic, and environmental issues urban transportation impacts. The global pressure of the transportation paradigm shift followed by the growth of sustainability issues have impacted to the urban transportation development in Indonesia. Jabodetabek, as a metropolitan city in the global south, faces an even more complex problem due to a mobility pattern that extends beyond the administrative border. Therefore, Jabodetabek tries to implement sustainable urban transportation principles in their urban transportation masterplan. However, Jabodetabek's agglomerated condition, followed by a complex urban transportation problem, still faces problems in  it’s implementation. This study aims to understand to what extent had  sustainable urban transportation been implemented in Jabodetabek urban transportation. This study used case-study analysis through in-depth interviews and desk study as data. In-depth interviews were  conducted with the Jabodetabek urban transportation stakeholders: Greater Jakarta transportation authority (Government); ITDP Indonesia (NGOs); and Transjakarta (Public transportation company). Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the sustainable urban transportation principle has been implemented in Jabodetabek but not yet optimal. Out of 10 indicators only “Investment of public transportation” reached the maximum implementation. The challenge of implementation relies on the complex transportation governance of Jabodetabek urban transportation and public transportation governance, which are limited to the local level, and lack of the availability of data on negative environmental factors for the policy measure
