Various land uses in Patuk Village include fields, rain fed agriculture, mixed gardens, settlements, shrubs, and grassland. The difference in land use is one aspect that can affect the infiltration process. The ability of the soil to infiltrate water can be reflected in the type of vegetation on the ground surface. Different in land use also cause different soil characteristics. Soil characteristics and infiltration have a huge relationship because both affect each other. The purpose of this research is to analyze infiltration capacity on various land uses, analyze the condition of soil characteristics and vegetation cover and their relationship with infiltration on various land uses in Patuk Village, Patuk Sub-district, Gunungkidul Regency.
Determination of data collection points was carried out using the simple random sampling method. Measurement of infiltration capacity was carried out using a double ring infiltrometer, soil sampling in the form of disturbed and undisturbed soil, vegetation data was taken with a measuring plot of 8m x 60m. Infiltration capacity analysis was carried out using the Horton formula, soil characteristics were analyzed in the laboratory, vegetation was analyzed by making profile diagrams using SExI-FS software. The relationship between soil characteristics and vegetation cover with infiltration was conducted using SPSS software and Microsoft Excel.
Based on the results of the study, it can be seen that the average infiltration capacity in the land use of shrubs is 0.62 cm/min, mixed gardens 0.57 cm/min, rain fed agriculture and fields each 0.35 cm/min, settlements 0.08 cm/min, grassland and vacant land each 0.06 cm/min. Variables that have a positive relationship with infiltration are sand, dust, structure, porosity, organic matter, and vegetation cover. Meanwhile, variables that have a negative relationship with infiltration include clay, volume weight, and specific gravity.
