Konsep network security system dan implementasinya pada perusahaan :: Studi kasus pada PT. Wijaya Karya Beton

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi Internet dan kemudahan berkomunikasi yang ditawarkannya telah banyak dimanfaatkan baik di kalangan pengguna pribadi maupun korporat. Yang harus diwaspadai adalah dengan terhubungnya sistem dengan Internet, berarti sistem akan mengakses dan dapat diakses oleh pengguna Internet yang ada di seluruh bagian dunia, yang tentunya membawa konsekuensi tersendiri dalam penanganan keamanannya. Terdapat banyak sekali bentuk serangan yang bisa dilakukan di Internet, secara garis besarnya dapat dibagi ke dalam 3 (tiga) kategori, yaitu reconnaissance attacks, access attacks, dan denial of service (DoS) attacks. Pengimplementasian network security system yang baik harus mampu melindungi sistem dari berbagai serangan tadi, yang hanya bisa dilakukan dengan menerapkan sebuah proses security system yang selalu berkelanjutan, dengan berpedoman pada security policy yang telah ditetapkan dan juga ter-update dengan baik. PT. Wijaya Karya Beton merupakan salah satu perusahaan di Indonesia yang telah menghubungkan sistem yang dimilikinya dengan Internet. Tesis ini mempelajari bagaimana perusahaan tersebut mengamankan sistem yang dimilikinya, serta melakukan evaluasi dengan mengadakan beberapa simulasi serangan untuk memastikan bahwa sistem perusahaan telah terlindungi dengan baik. Hasil dari tesis ini adalah beberapa saran untuk lebih mempertangguh network security system yang sudah ada.

The Internet has undoubtly become the largest public data network, enabling and facilitating both personal and bussiness communications worldwide. More and more communications is taking place via e-mail. Mobile workers and branch offices are using the Internet to remotely connect to their corporate networks. While the Internet has transformed and greatly improved the way we do bussiness, this vast network and its associated technologies have opened the door to an increasing number of security threats from which corporations must protect themselves. Innumerable types of network attacks have been documented, and they are commonly clasified in three general categories : reconnaissance attacks, access attacks, and denial of service (DoS) attacks. Network security should be a continuous process built around a security policy. PT. Wijaya Karya Beton is one of the wellknown companies in Indonesia that has connection directly to the Internet to improve the efficiency of bussiness and communications. This tesis studies how PT. Wijaya Karya Beton securing it’s network system and evaluates the implementation of network security system in this company to ensure the existing security solution for the network is up to date and safe. Evaluation is done by taking some attack simulations to see how PT. Wijaya Karya Beton prevents its system from network security breaches. As the result, there are suggestions and steps that sholud be done to eliminate security weaknesses or vulnerabilities
