serta variasi primary and secondary air
dengan excess air 100%. Variasi
kondisi pembakaran dieksplorasi untuk mendapatkan kondisi pembakaran optimum
pengambilan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, didapatkan bahwa variasi
persentase excess air dan primary and secondary air (PSA)
250 mg/m3.
Sugarcane bagasse is the
side result of sugar processing which has the potential to be an alternative
fuel, especially through direct combustion method because it has high calorific
value, low ash content, and abundant availability in Indonesia. However,
biomass combustion is known to result in high particulate emissions and
dangerous for humans and the environment. Therefore, this research was designed
to analyze the characteristics of particulate emission on biomass combustion in
fixed grate furnace laboratory scale with air staging method and excess air
variation. The primary variation and secondary air were with 100% excess air.
The variation of combustion condition was explored to obtain the optimum
combustion condition with the lowest particulate emission. This research would
be carried out by using sugarcane bagasse amounted to 100 g per 3 minutes in
the amount of 12 times where 6 times the first reloading to see the temperature
trend and 6 times the second reloading would be used to process the data collection.
Based on the research results, obtained that the variation of excess air
percentage and primary and secondary air (PSA) influenced the particulate
emission. The combustion with excess air 100% was proven to generate the lowest
particulate emission concentration value namely PM2.5 196,16 mg/m3
and PM10 236,46 mg/m3,
compared to excess air condition which was smaller or bigger. The particulate
concentration was equal to the emission factor 0,85 g PM/kg biomass at PM2.5
and 1,02 g PM/kg biomass at PM10. While in the combustion with PSA 30:70%, proven
generated the lowest value of particulate emission concentration from other variations
with PM2.5 196,16 mg/m3 and PM10 236,46 mg/m3. This
particulate concentration is equal to the emission factor of 0,85 g PM/kg
biomass at PM2.5 and 1,02 g PM/kg biomass at PM10. The value of PSA particulate
concentration 30:70% was equal to excess air 100?cause the air staging
method remained to be used at excess air variation namely 30:70%. The
particulate concentration resulted was proven to be relatively low from the
threshold determined by the Indonesian government is 250 mg/m3.
