Data processing is one of the important things in the implementation of temperature sensors. The data processing has intended so that the data obtained is valid. Noise during the process of sending data and voltage drops that may occur on the temperature sensor can affect the measurement results of the sensor.
In this study, MeX FX algorithm has created to process measurement errors on the LM35 temperature sensor when the data cable used was relatively long and to overcome the voltage drop on the sensor. The MeX FX algorithm consists of data-completeness detection, noise estimation, and, data processing. The data processing section consists of EWMA filters, one-dimensional Gaussian filters, median filters, and average filters.
Method testing has been carried out in 10 test scenarios using 550 data for each scenario. In each test scenario, the LM35 sensor is used to measure the temperature of the thermoelectric module. The sensor is given an input voltage in the form of PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) with varying duty cycle values. The total average of RMSE (Root Mean Squared Error) before processing is 20.712. The MeX FX algorithm is the best method for those 8 test scenarios. The average value of the RMSE after being processed by the MeX FX algorithm is 13.444. The lowest RMSE value of the MeX FX algorithm is 1.853 in the test scenario with an 80 cm data cable and 20 per cent of lost data.
