2008 | Skripsi | S1 KEHUTANANMerbau {lntsia bijuga, (Colebr.) O.Kuntze} merupakan salah satu jenis pohon yang potensial Wltuk dikembangkan menjadi prioritas dalam pembangWlan hutan tanaman. Banyaknya kegunaan dari pohon merbau ini mendorong usabausaha Wltuk melestarikan dan memperluas penanaman jenis tersebut. Dalam hal ini, peran pemuliaan pohon sangat dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan mutu materi genetik sumber beuih merbau. Seleksi pohon plus mempakan langkah awal dalam kegiatan pemuliaan pohon ini. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui nilai standar skor minimal dalam pemilihan pohon plus merbau dan memperoleh pohon plus merbau yang memiliki sifat fenotipe unggul. Lokasi penelitian terletak di Disrtik. Arso Kabupaten Keerom Propinsi Papua Timur, Distrik Sidey Makmur Kabupaten Manokwari dan Distrik Tarsa kawasan hutan alam HPH lntimpura Corp, Kabupaten Sorong Propinsi Papua Barat. Metode yang dipakai dalam pernilihan pohon plus dengan sistem okuler menggi.makan metode eksploratif Data terdiri dari diameter batang, tinggi pohon, bataug bebas c.abang, cabang permanen, pennukaan batang, kesilindrisan batang dan cacat batang. Kemudian dilakukan skoring dan membandingkan antara kandidat pobon plus dengan pohon reratanya pada masing-masing lokasi. Hasil penelitian diperoleh sebanyak 48 kandidat pohon plus merbau. Berdasarkan perbandingan kandidat pohon plus dengan pohon reratanya diperoleh standar skor minimal penentuan pohon plus untuk lokasi eksplorasi Keerom, Manokwari dan Sorong berturut-turut adalah sebesar 70, 80 dan 70. Berdasarkan skor minimal penentuan pohon plus yang diperoleh pada tiap-tiap lokasi eksplorasi, pohon plus merbau (fenot1pe unggul) yang didapat di Keerom adalah sebanyak 9 pohon, Manokwari sebanyak 18 pohon dan di Sorong sebanyak 2 pohon.
Merbau {Jntsia b(juga (Colebr.) O.Kuntze} is one of variety of tree that have potency to develop become priority in built of plantation forest. There are many function of this merbau, that can stimulate initiative for everlasting.and to extend place of planting of merbau in this situation, the funtion in respection of tree is very needed to increase quality of genetic merbau seed. Selection of plus tree is the first step on this tree respection. The research have purpose to understand the value of minimum score standard on selection of merbau plus h·ee merbau and get plus tree of merbau that have superior fenotipe characteristic. The location of this research was in Arso District Keerom Regency Province of East Papua, Sidey Makmur District Manokwari Regency and Tarsa District in natme forest region of HPH Intimpura Corp, Sorong Regency Province of West Papua. Method that use in selection of plus tree was ocular system that using explorative method. Data consist of stem diameter, high of tree, stem that was examted of branch, permanent branch, stem surface, cylinder of stem, and stem with a defect. Then the next step was scoring and comparing between candidate of plus h·ee and equally that tree in each location. The result of reserach were 48 candidate of plus tree of merbau. Based on compa1ing candidat plus tree with equally tree can be able minimum standar score to secure plus tree in location of explorative on, there were Keerom, Manokwari, and Sarong where the amount of that were 70, 80 and 70 continuoucly. Based on minimum standart score plus tree that be able in each location of exploration. Plus Tree ofmerbm1 (superior fenotipe) can be able in Keerom were 9 plus tree of merbau, in Manokwa1i were 18 plus tree of merbau and in Sarong were 2 plus tree ofmerbau.
