Central Jakarta has a population
of approximately 1.056.896 people as of 2020, with population growth rate of
1,53% since 2010 until 2020. The continuously increasing population
each year is directly correlated with the rising number of vehicles. Vehicles
are considered a primary necessity in facilitating human mobility. The
increasing population, along with the increasing number of vehicles due to
human activities, has resulted in air quality and higher levels of pollution.
The average air pollution index (ISPU) in DKI Jakarta in May
2020 is
categorized as moderate. This urban situation has contributed to increasing
carbon dioxide emissions. Stand vegetation in public green open spaces in the
city has ability to absorb and storage carbon in urban areas. Remote sensing
technology is considered effective in estimating carbon stock.
The study was designed to
determine the best transformation index vegetation for estimating carbon stock
and to estimate total carbon stock of stand vegetation in public green open
spaces using the best vegetation index. the method used is linear regression
analysis between vegetation index and field carbon stock value based on
allometric equation. The transformation index vegetation used are Normalized
Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index (SAVI), and
Enhanced Vegetation Index-2 (EVI-2). Model of carbon stock estimation obtained
from accuracy tests using the standard error estimation method.
The
result of this study show that Enhanced Vegetation Index-2 (EVI-2) is the best
transformation index vegetation for estimating carbon stock stand vegetation in
public green open spaces in Central Jakarta with the highest level of accuracy,
with ?Est value of 0,528. Total of estimation carbon stock for all public green open
spaces studied with EVI-2 is 252.644,1693 tons, with the Monument Nasional (MONAS) having the highest carbon
stock among four other city parks, which is 200.953,6855 tons.
