Hasil dan Kualitas Nira Kelapa Pada Dua Ketinggian Berbeda Selama Musim Penghujan di Kapanewon Kokap Kulon Progo

Hargotirto dan Hargowilis memiliki potensi penghasil gula jawa. Daerah tersebut berada di pegunungan menoreh yang memiliki bentuk topografi yang beragam. Selain itu, proses budidaya tanaman kelapa tidak dilakukan secara intensif sehingga hasil nira kelapa lebih dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lingkungan. Salah satu faktor tersebut yakni perbedaan ketinggian tempat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2022-Februari 2023 di Desa Hargowilis dan Hargotirto, Kapanewon Kokap, D.I Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei dan waancara. Berdasarkan penelitian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa ketinggian tempat tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap kuantitas nira yang ditinjau dari jumlah bunga dan volume nira yang dihasilkan. Jumlah bunga yang dihasilkan ± 2 buah per tanaman dengan volume nira yang dihasilkan ± 18-21 liter per minggu. Disisi lain, ketinggian tempat memberikan pengaruh terhadap kualitas nira yang ditinjau dari rendemen nira kelapa. Pada dataran rendah, nilai rendemen nira kelapa ± 17,1%, sedangkan pada dataran menengah nilai rendemen nira kelapa ± 16,4%.

Hargotirto and Hargowilis have the potential to produce brown sugar. The area is located in Menoreh Mountains which has a variety of topographical forms. In addition, the process of cultivating coconut plants is not carried out intensively so that the yield of coconut sap is more influenced by environmental conditions. One of these factors is the difference in altitude. This research was conducted in December 2022-February 2023 in Hargowilis and Hargotirto Villages, Kapanewon Kokap, D.I Yogyakarta. This research was conducted using survey and interview methods. Based on this research, the results showed that altitude had no influence on the quantity of sap in terms of the number of flowers and volume of sap produced. The number of flowers produced is ± 2 per plant with a volume of sap produced ± 18-21 liters per week. On the other hand, altitude has an influence on the quality of sap as seen from the yield of coconut sap. In the lowlands, the yield value for coconut sap is ± 17.1%, while in the midlands the yield value for coconut sap is ± 16.4%.
