Pengaruh penambahan Ractopamine Hydrochloride terhadap performan pertumbuhan dan kualitas karkas babi

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ractopamine hidrochloride dalam pakan babi terhadap performan pertumbuhan dan kualitas karkas pada babi yang dipelihara dengan pakan standar babi rakyat. Empatpuluh (40) ekor babi (20 jantan dan 20 betina) periode finisher digunakan pada penelitian ini. Babi dikelompokkan menjadi empat kelompok yaitu kelompok A (kontrol, tanpa penambahan ractopamine HCl), B (perlakuan ractopamine HCl 20 ppm), C (perlakuan ractopamine HCl 10 ppm) dan D (perlakuan ractopamine HCl 5 ppm). Babi dipelihara dengan pakan standar sistem basah berupa campuran ampas tahu dan bekatul yang sebelumnya dianalisiskan kandungan asam aminonya. Analisis pakan didapatkan bahwa kadar asam amino lisin 0,728 %. Setelah berat badan ± 60 kg diberi perlakuan dengan penambahan ractopamine HCl pada pakan. Dilakukan penimbangan awal dan penimbangan rutin setiap 2 minggu sampai mencapai berat 100 kg, kemudian babi dipotong. Data pertumbuhan berat badan dan performan dianalisis dengan analisis varian. Data kualitas karkas meliputi tebal lemak, loin, warna-tekstur-eksudasi otot, warna standar dan marbling dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penilaian tebal lemak, loin, warna-tekstur-eksudasi otot dan warna standar tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol. Pertumbuhan berat badan tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan. Performan pertumbuhan dan marbling menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada perlakuan 20 dan 10 ppm tetapi tidak signifikan pada 5 ppm. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan ractopamine HCl sebagai growth promotant pada babi memberikan hasil optimal pada dosis10 ppm.

The study was conducted to determine the effects of ractopamine hydrochloride in dietary treatment on growth performance and carcass quality of local pig with traditional management feed. Fourthy (40) finisher pigs (20 castrated male and 20 female) were used in this study. The pigs were divided into four (4) groups; Group A (control, treated without ractopamine HCl), Group B (treated with ractopamine HCl 20 ppm), Group C (treated with ractopamine HCl 10 ppm) and Group D (treated with ractopamine HCl 5 ppm). The pigs was held in traditional standard feed management with wet feed system contains soybean waste and rice bran until bodyweight reach about 60 kg then treated with dietary treatment of ractopamine. Weighing before treatment and repeat every two weeks until one of the pigs bodyweight reach 100 kg and then slaughtered. Data of gains and performance were statistically analyzed. Data of carcass quality include back fat depth, loin, color-texture-exudation, color standards and marbling standards were descriptively analyzed. Analyzed standard feed in this study contains 0.728 % lysine. The judging results of back fat depth, loin, color-texture-exudation and color standards had no difference effects between control and treatment groups. The gains had no difference effects between control and treatment groups. Performance and marbling had significant differences on 20 ppm and 10 ppm treatment but had no difference effects on 5 ppm treatment. According to this study, ractopamine HCl gives an optimum effect at 10 ppm treatment in pig.
