Term of Trade Determinants of Rice Farmer in Yogyakarta Province

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Propinsi DIY dalam rentang waktu tahun 1987-2008. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui tren Nilai Tukar Petani padi, (2) untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Metode dasar yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif analistis. Nilai Tukar Petani padi yang dihitung adalah nilai tukar sebagai produsen dan konsumen. Regresi linear berganda digunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variabel harga gabah, harga beras, harga pupuk, dan harga gula pasir terhadap Nilai Tukar Petani padi. Regresi linear sederhana digunakan untuk mengetahui tren Nilai Tukar Petani padi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Nilai Tukar Petani padi di Propinsi DIY dalam periode 1987-2008 cenderung menurun dengan nilai yang dominan lebih dari 100 pada periode 1987-1991dan 2003-2008, sedangkan nilai yang kurang dari 100 dalam periode 1992-1997 dan 1998-2002. (2) Nilai Tukar Petani padi di Propinsi DIY dalam periode 1987-2008 dipengaruhi oleh harga gabah secara positif, harga beras secara positif, harga gula secara negatif dan kondisi Nilai Tukar Petani pada bulan tertentu dipengaruhi oleh kondisi pada satu bulan sebelumnya.

The study was conducted in Yogyakarta Province in the period of 1987-2008. The objectives of this research were (1) to analyze trend of term of trade of rice farmers, (2) to analyze term of trade determinants of rice farmers. The basic research method of this study was descriptive analysis. The term of trade of rice farmers calculated in this research were rice farmer’s terms of trade as a producer and a consumer. Multiple linear regressions were used analyze the impact of rice-grain price, rice-milled price, fertilizer price, and sugar price the term of trade of rice farmers. The simple linear regression was used to analyze the trend of the term of trade of rice farmers in Yogyakarta Province. The result showed that (1) the term of trade of rice farmers trend in Yogyakarta Province during the period of 1987-2008 tend to decline. The value of rice farmers term of trade during year 1987-1991 and 2003-2008 were higher 100, on the other hand during 1992-1997 and 1998-2002 were lower than 100; (2) the term of trade of rice farmers in Yogyakarta Province influenced positively by rice grain price and rice price, but negatively by sugar price, and rice farmers term of trade previous month.
