Pengaruh kegunaan pasir halus sungai terhadap karakteristik campuran asphalt treated base (ATB) berdasarkan uji marshall

Permasalahan yang terjadi di daerah Riau, yaitu disebabkan karena sulitnya untuk mendapatkan agregat halus dan filler yang diproduksi oleh alat pemecah batu serta jauhnya quary pengambilan material sehingga membutuhkan biaya yang cukup besar, maka untuk efisiensi dan ekonomis kebutuhan akan bahan susun akhirnya diupayakan bahan lokal (pasir halus) sungai Indragiri Riau. Langkah awal dari penelitian ini, yaitu membuat komposisi gradasi bahan, membuat gradasi campuran di kontrol spesifikasi gradasi, membuat benda uji campuran Asphalt Treated Base (ATB), melakukan pengujian benda uji non standard dan standard serta melakukan uji perendaman. Hasil penelitian laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa, kegunaan pasir halus sungai terhadap campuran ATB mempengaruhi terhadap tebal benda uji menjadi besar, nilai density lebih kecil, nilai stabilitas lebih kecil, persentase nilai Voids in Mineral Agregate (VMA) lebih besar, persentase nilai Voids Filled With Asphalt (VFWA) rendah, persentase nilai Voids In The Mix (VITM) besar, nilai flow kecil, nilai Marshall Quotient (MQ) kecil. Nilai kadar aspal optimum, yaitu porsi 100/0 pada benda uji non standar 6,53% dan standar 6,05%, porsi 80/20 pada benda uji non standar 7,15% dan standar 7,0%, sedangkan porsi 50/50 tidak ada yang memenuhi syarat. Nilai indek perendaman, porsi 100/0 pada benda uji non standar 84,39% dan standar 84,33%, porsi 80/20 pada benda uji non standar 92,18% dan standar 92,01%, sedangkan porsi 50/50 tidak memenuhi syarat. Nilai karakteristik ATB, porsi 100/0, 80/20 secara keseluruhan nilai stabilitas dan MQ memenuhi persyaratan dan nilai VITM yang memenuhi syarat pada porsi 100/0 dengan kadar aspal 6,0%, 6,5% dan 7,0% dan porsi 80/20 dengan kadar aspal 7,0%, 7,5%, sedangkan porsi 50/50 tidak ada yang memenuhi syarat. Sehingga hasil penelitian ini dapat di tarik kesimpulan bahwa, pasir halus sungai Indragiri Riau bisa digunakan sebagai pengganti agregat halus dan filler terhadap karakteristik campuran ATB adalah porsi 80/20.

The matter that commonly occur in Riau Province are the difficulty to find a filler and fine aggregates produced by the stone breaker devices. It was due to the distance of material source quary which finally results in the of materials allocation. In order to meet on efficiency of highway project, the research try to use of local material (fine sand) obtained from Indragiri River at Riau Province The first step in the research was carried out by formulating the gradation composition of heap materials, fomulating the form of mix gradation controlled by gradation spesification, formulating Asphalt Treated Base (ATB) mix specimen, tested the non standard and standard thickness specimen, and carried out by Marshall test and immersion test. Laboratory research showed that the using of fine sand into ATB mix influences the thickness of specimen which becoming thicker, smaller density values, smaller stability values, higher Voids in Mineral Aggregate (VMA) value percentages, small Voids Filled With Asphalt (VFWA) value percentages, high Voids In The Mix (VITM) value percentages, small flow values, and small Marshall Quotient (MQ) values. Optimum Asphalt Content values were 100/0 portion at the 6.53% non standard specimen and 6.05% at the standard specimen, 80/20 portion at the 7.15% non standard specimen and 7.0% at the standard specimen, while on the 50/50 portion there was no optimum asphalt content which fulfill the requirements. Immersion Index value, 100/0 portion for the non standard spesimen was 84.39% and the standard specimen was 84.33%, 80/20 portion for the non standard specimen was 92.80% and the standard spesimen was 92.01% while on the 50/50 portion the value not which fulfill the requirements. ATB characteristic value for 100/0, 80/20 portion, generally stability and MQ value fulfill the requirement, while VITM which fulfill the requirements on the portion of 100/0 with the asphalt content of 6.0%, 6.5% and 7.0% and the portion of 80/20 with the asphalt content of 7.0%, 7.5%, while for the portion of 50/50 there was no value which fulfill the requirements. Based on the research results, it might be concluded that fine sand of Indragiri River Riau that can be used as substitutes of fine aggregates and filler into ATB mix characteristic was 80/20 portion.
