ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN BLACK-BOX AUTOMATED TESTING DAN MANUAL TESTING PADA WEB E-PAPER

Surat kabar elektronik atau epaper merupakan salah satu tindakan inovatif yang dapat diambil oleh perusahaan media cetak untuk mengikuti perkembangan teknologi. Epaper yang berkualitas harus dilakukan suatu pengujian agar fungsionalitas dapat berjalan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Salah satu pengujian yang dapat dilakukan adalah Black Box Testing yang berfokus terhadap tampilan pengguna tanpa melihat source code. Jenis pengujian ini dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan pengujian manual dan pengujian otomatis. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan menggunakan kedua jenis pengujian tersebut, sedangkan untuk pengujian otomatis menggunakan tools Selenium IDE dan Katalon Studio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengujian otomatis tools Selenium IDE memperoleh durasi waktu pengujian yang lebih cepat yaitu 15% equivalence partitioning dan 17% boundary value analysis, hal ini berlaku pada website epaper Kedaulatan Rakyat dan Pos Kota, dan SuaraNTB. Hasil ditemukan bahwa ketiga website epaper masih perlu pengembangan lebih lanjut, terutama perbaikan pada website epaper Pos Kota yang memperoleh tingkat keberhasilan terendah dibandingkan kedua website epaper lainnya yaitu sebesar 57.14% pada metode equivalence partitioning dan 65.31% metode boundary value analysis.

Electronic newspapers or epapers are one of the innovative actions that can be taken by print media companies to keep up with technological advancements. High-quality epapers need to undergo testing to ensure that their functionalities operate as expected. One of the testing methods that can be used is Black Box Testing, which focuses on the user interface without examining the source code. This type of testing can be performed through manual testing and automated testing. In this research, both manual and automated testing methods were employed, with the automated testing utilizing Selenium IDE and Katalon Studio tools. The results of the study indicated that automated testing with Selenium IDE achieved faster testing durations, with a 15% improvement in equivalence partitioning and a 17% improvement in boundary value analysis. These findings were applicable to the epaper websites of Kedaulatan Rakyat, Pos Kota, and SuaraNTB. However, the study revealed that all three epaper websites still require further development, especially in the case of the Pos Kota epaper, which obtained the lowest success rate compared to the other two epaper websites. Specifically, the success rate for Pos Kota's epaper was 57.14% in equivalence partitioning and 65.31% in boundary value analysis. Therefore, improvements are needed to enhance the functionality and performance of these epaper websites, particularly for Pos Kota's epaper.
