Studi pilihan lokasi berdagang bagi pedagang kaki lima di Kota Slawi

Keberadaan pedagang kaki lima di jalan-jalan strategis di kota Slawi semakin lama semakin meresahkan karena dianggap sebagai penyebab kekumuhan kota, kesemerawutan dan penyebab kemacetan lalu lintas, sehingga menimbulkan konflik interest dengan pihak pemerintah. Masalah umum yang timbul adalah terkait dengan pemilihan lokasi berdagang yang digunakan pedagang kaki lima bertentangan dengan tata ruang kota. Pemerintah daerah mengkomodasi peningkatan jumlah pedagang kaki lima dengan menyediakan lokasi berdagang di area pasar Trayeman dan di pinggir jalan Flores Baru, namun kedua lokasi tersebut tidak diminati oleh pedagang kaki lima dengan alasan lokasi tersebut berada jauh dari pusat kota dan pusat pergerakan penduduk. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian deskripsi dan pendekatan rasionalistik, penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui sebaran pedagang kaki lima di kota Slawi beserta karakteristiknya, faktor-faktor pemilihan lokasi berdagang oleh pedagang kaki lima dan berusaha menawarkan alternatif lokasi yang dapat diterima oleh kedua pihak, disamping memenuhi persyaratan umum lokasinya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pedagang kaki lima di kota Slawi menempati seluruh lokasi strategis di dalam kota dalam rangka mendekati pembeli guna menjamin kelancaran usahanya dan lokasi lain dalam rangka mencoba keberuntungan persaingan sesama pedagang kaki lima sejenis. Berdasarkan analisa tata guna lahan, analisa lintas faktor dan analisa superimpose, diketahui bahwa lokasi yang tepat bagi pedagang kaki lima adalah di pasar Trayeman. Namun demikian untuk mengakomodasikan peningkatan jumlah pedagang kaki lima, pemerintah daerah perlu segera menyediakan beberapa lokasi yang cocok/terbaik menurut persyaratan lokasi tersebut di sub-sub pusat kota.

The existence of street traders on the strategic streets in Slawi already in a critical/alarmed stage, because their existence is perceived as the main reason that caused the traffic jam, disorder, and increasing possibility of turning certain part of town to be a slum. This in turn also causes conflict of interest between the street traders and the local government. The major problem is that most of the street traders are doing their activities on the location which are prohibited by the local government, because the locations are not suitable according to the city’s landscape and master planning. The local government is trying to accomodate the increasing quantity of these street traders by providing a trading location in the Trayeman traditional market and also in area of the side area of Flores street. However these two locations are not interesting at all for the street traders, because it’s far from the centre of the city and only few people are passing by the locations. By using the description research method and rational approach, this research study is aimed to study and know the spreading, characteristic, location choosing factor of the street traders in Slawi city, and provides an alternative location which is acceptable by the government and the street traders and fulfill the location factor. The result of the research in generals are the street traders in Slawi are doing their activities in all strategic locations in Slawi town in order to be close to the consumers, so it will provide a better business prospect. Some other locations are also used by street traders; they are trying their luck, so competitions between the street traders are inevitable. According to the land use analyze, across factor analyze, and superimpose methods, it is concluded that the suitable location for the street traders in Slawi are in Trayeman traditional market. However to the recondition of the increasing quantity of these street traders, the local government soon has to provide may the oppor location for the place of street traders in sub towns centre
