Hutan rakyat memainkan peran penting dalam mendukung perekonomian rumah tangga di pedesaan, menyediakan layanan ekologis, dan memasok kayu ke industri pengolahan. Untuk meningkatkan kontribusi hutan rakyat bagi masyarakat, diperlukan pengelolaan yang baik dari kegiatan produksi hingga distribusi. Sertifikasi hutan merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mendukung pengelolaan hutan rakyat dari aspek produksi, lingkungan, dan keberlanjutan sosial. KSU Taman Wijaya Rasa (KOSTAJASA) adalah salah satu koperasi pengelolaan hutan rakyat di Indonesia yang telah memeroleh sertifikasi FSC sejak 2009. Melalui sertifikasi FSC diharapkan pengelolaan hutan rakyat dapat berkelanjutan secara ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan. Penilaian dampak sosial dibutuhkan untuk mengevaluasi dampak kegiatan sertifikasi dan memastikan bahwa kepentingan serta kesejahteraan masyarakat setempat terpenuhi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai dampak sosial sertifikasi hutan rakyat FSC di KOSTAJASA, Kabupaten Kebumen. Metode deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif digunakan sebagai metode dasar dalam penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sertifikasi FSC memberikan dampak sosial yang baik bagi petani hutan rakyat bersertifikat dan masyarakat lokal. Dampak positif sertifikasi FSC terlihat pada beberapa aspek yang mencakup peningkatan pemahaman petani hutan rakyat bersertifikat (82,3%), peningkatan kepatuhan terhadap hukum dan peraturan yang sesuai standar FSC (82,1%), perlindungan hak-hak pekerja dan masyarakat lokal (83?n 86%). Peningkatan peluang kerja, pendapatan, dan kesempatan berusaha di sektor kehutanan (82,2%). Pemasaran hasil hutan menjadi lebih terbuka dan menguntungkan dengan rantai pemasaran kayu yang lebih sederhana, harga kayu bersertifikat di atas rata-rata pasar, dan prioritas penjualan kepada pabrik (83,3%). Variabel rencana pengelolaan hutan memperoleh skor nilai 78,9%, adanya potensi untuk perbaikan strategi terkait perencanaan pengelolaan hutan rakyat bersertifikat guna menjaga keberlanjutan hutan rakyat.

Community forests play an important role in supporting the rural household economy, providing ecological services, and supplying wood to processing industries. To increase the contribution of community forests to the community, good management is needed from production to distribution activities. Forest certification is one of the efforts to support community forest management from the aspects of production, environment and social sustainability. KSU Taman Wijaya Rasa (KOSTAJASA) is one of the community forest management cooperatives in Indonesia that has obtained FSC certification since 2009. Through FSC certification it is hoped that community forest management can be economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. A social impact assessment is needed to evaluate the impact of certification activities and ensure that the interests and welfare of the local community are met. This study aims to assess the social impact of FSC community forest certification in KOSTAJASA, Kebumen District. Quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods are used as basic methods in research. Based on research results, FSC certification has a good social impact for certified community forest farmers and local communities. The positive impact of FSC certification can be seen in several aspects which include increasing the understanding of certified smallholders (82.3%), increasing compliance with laws and regulations according to FSC standards (82.1%), protecting the rights of workers and local communities (83% and 86%). Increased job opportunities, income and business opportunities in the forestry sector (82.2%). Marketing of forest products has become more open and profitable with a simpler timber marketing chain, certified timber prices are above the market average, and sales priority to mills (83.3%). The forest management plan variable obtained a score of 78.9%, there is potential for improvement of strategies related to certified community forest management plans to maintain the sustainability of community forests.
