kemampuan perempuan difabel kerap kali diremehkan.
anggota HWDI Sleman, ketua HWDI Provinsi
Initiatives to empower people in these developing countries will never end. To hasten the growth of the numerous underprivileged groups, the government is urged to support empowerment. This thesis will discuss how women with disabilities use the personal power they have gained through organizations. Due to the various forms of prejudice they encounter, women with disabilities typically have their abilities devalued. With the division of things based on differences and the ensuing social exclusion, our society's acceptance of the concept of normalcy has caused. This study focuses on the Indonesian Association of Women with Disabilities (HWDI) Sleman, one of the distinctive organizations for disabled women in Sleman. Eight participants—three sets of Sleman HWDI members, Provincial & District HWDI leaders, and families of Sleman HWDI members—made up the study's informants. To gather comprehensive information from multiple perspectives, each informant must fulfill a certain duty. The material was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation before being turned into a narrative. The research methodology being employed is qualitative, with a case study research emphasis. The researcher employed Jo Rowlands' theory, which divides personal space into three dimensions: personal, intimate relationships, and collective, to make the analysis being done more in-depth. According to the study's findings, organizations are one of Rowlands' three dimensions where one might exercise and build one's own power. First, let's talk about the experiences of HWDI Sleman members who are women with disabilities in terms of realizing their fair share of power inside organizational structures and putting it into practice. Second, let's talk about the exercise of power by disabled women outside of the organization, namely in the context of their personal and family lives. In conclusion, everyone can own power, including marginalized groups like women with impairments. Furthermore, the exercise of power can occur in contexts other than that of an organization, specifically in those of the personal and familial. Suggestions and recommendations round out the research's concluding section.
