Peran Sikap, Norma Subjektif, dan Efikasi Politik terhadap Intensi Partisipasi Memilih Mahasiswa Sebagai Pemilih Pemula

Selama beberapa dekade ini Theory of Planned Behavior telah menjadi kerangka acuan proses pembentukan perilaku manusia dalam berbagai bidang. Peran masyarakat dalam kehidupan politik amatlah penting, khususnya di sebuah negara demokrasi seperti Indonesia. Salah satu penerapan perilaku pada bidang politik yang paling umum dan dapat menjadi patokan keberhasilan sistem politik demokrasi adalah partisipasi memilih saat Pemilu berlangsung. Penelitian ini betujuan untuk meneliti faktor dari intensi partisipasi memilih di kalangan pemilih pemula dengan kerangka Theory of Planned Behavior. Pada kerangka penelitian ini perceived behavior control digantikan dengan efikasi politik. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 300 mahasiswa yang akan berusia 18 hingga 23 tahun saat Pemilu 2024 berlangsung. Terdapat empat instrumen penelitian untuk mengukur masing-masing variabel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sikap terhadap partisipasi memilih berpengaruh secara siginifikan kepada intensi memilih pada Pemilu, sedangkan norma subjektif dan efikasi politik tidak berpengaruh signifikan.

Over the past few decades, the Theory of Planned Behavior has become a frame of reference for the process of forming human behavior in various fields. The role of society in political life is very important, especially in a democratic-system country, such as Indonesia. One of the most common behavioral applications in the political field and can be used as a benchmark for the success of a democratic political system is voting participation during the general election. This study aims to examine the factors of voting participation intentions among novice voters with the framework of Theory of Planned Behavior. In this research framework, perceived behavior control is replaced by political efficacy. The participants of this research are 300 students who will be 18 to 23 years old when the 2024 General Election takes place. There are four research instruments to measure each research variable. The results showed that attitudes towards voting behavior had a significant effect on voting intention in elections, while the subjective norm and political efficacy had no significant effect.
