Roads are quite important infrastructure for the economy in the community. The development of an area requires adequate road quality to support economic activities. Boyong Road, located in Pakem Subdistrict, Sleman Regency, is a road in a mountainous area that is quite strategic and provides access to various tourist attractions. This research aims to determine the condition of the Boyong Road pavement using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI), Surface Distress Index (SDI), and International Roughness Index (IRI) methods, assess the condition of road damage on the Boyong Road section, determine maintenance and repair methods based on road conditions, and determine the most suitable method for selecting road maintenance handling programs on the Boyong Road section.
The research was conducted on Jalan Boyong by means of visual observations for the PCI and SDI methods and calculations using smartphone applications for the IRI method. The results showed that in the road section under review, it was found that the dominant damage occurred in the types of patches, cracked blocks, and holes. The value and conditions that occur on the Boyong Road section obtained the average value of the PCI method calculation of 23.97 (serious), the SDI method of 188.16 (severely damaged), and the IRI method of 10.53 (slightly damaged). The road maintenance program is carried out using the Shahin and Bina Marga methods. Handling based on PCI value with Shahin method provides a form of handling in the form of major maintenance, based on SDI value with Bina Marga method provides a form of handling in the form of reconstruction while based on IRI value with Bina Marga method provides a form of handling in the form of rehabilitation maintenance. The selection of the most appropriate method for road maintenance programs is the PCI method if you want to get a more appropriate type of road maintenance and the SDI method if the evaluation has limited time and cost as an alternative.
