Minyak biji kelor (Moringa oleifera)
Moringa seed oil (Moringa
oleifera) has been known for its many benefits, both as a dietary
supplement and as a cosmetic ingredient. Moringa seed oil is known to have acted
as an antioxidant, one of which can work as a sunscreen. The purpose of this
study was to formulate a gel with Moringa seed oil and optimize the
concentration of a suitable gelling agent, as well as evaluate the physical
properties and stability of the gel. Gelling agent optimization is done using
the Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) method using Design Expert software version
13.0.5.0. The physical properties tested are organoleptic, gel viscosity, pH,
dispersion, adhesion, and gel homogeneity test. The stability of the gel will
be tested using the cycling test method for three cycles. The optimum formula
verification test was carried out using a one sample t-test then a comparison
of the physical properties of Moringa seed oil gel between the beginning of
manufacture and after storage was analyzed with an ANOVA test with a confidence
level of 95%. The results showed that the combination of HPMC of 0,554% and carbopol of 0,446% produced an optimum formula with stable physical
properties of viscosity, pH, dispersion, and adhesion during the three cycling
test cycles as evidenced by the absence of significant differences in the value
of its physical properties.
