Tren globalisasi dan perkembangan teknologi informasi saat ini berkembang begitu pesatnya, hal tersebut mengakibatkan terjadinya perubahan dalam seluruh tatanan kehidupan manusia. Salah satunya yaitu dalam bidang pendidikan yang dituntut untuk dapat menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang handal dan cakap sehingga dapat menjadi pelaku ekonomi yang produktif. Dalam ranah perguruan tinggi sendiri sedang gencar mencetuskan program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) sebagai terusan dari program link and match yang sudah ada sejak dahulu. Program tersebut menawarkan berbagai jenis kegiatan yang dapat diikuti oleh setiap mahasiswa, salah satunya yaitu kegiatan magang. Kegiatan magang melalui program MBKM dianggap dapat memberikan banyak manfaat kepada pesertanya, akan tetapi terdapat beberapa hal yang justru dapat merugikan peserta itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dinamika yang terjadi dalam proses magang melalui program MBKM dan juga untuk mengetahui apa saja kerentanan yang dialami oleh setiap peserta saat mengikuti kegiatan magang program MBKM terutama bagi mahasiswa Universitas Gadjah Mada. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis dinamika dan berbagai kerentanan yang dialami oleh peserta magang melalui program MBKM. Proses observasi dan wawancara dilakukan sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Penggunaan teori prekariat milik Guy Standing digunakan untuk menganalisis kerentanan yang dialami oleh peserta magang MBKM sebagai pekerja prekariat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa walaupun program MBKM dibentuk oleh pemerintah dan menawarkan begitu banyak manfaat, namun demikian nyatanya para peserta magang justru mengalami berbagai jenis tindak eksploitasi saat kegiatan magang berlangsung. Peserta magang sudah menemui berbagai risiko yang membuat posisinya menjadi rentan jauh sebelum pelaksanaan kegiatan magang berlangsung, seperti saat proses pendaftaran dan seleksi. Selain itu penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa terdapat beberapa aspek yang menimbulkan risiko peserta magang sehingga posisinya menjadi semakin rentan yaitu antara lain; 1) jam kerja; 2) beban kerja; 3) upah; dan yang terakhir yaitu 4) jaminan perlindungan sosial.

 

The trend of globalization and the development of information technology are currently growing rapidly, this changes the entire order of human life. One of them is the education field which is required to be able to create reliable and capable human resources. Therefore they can be productive economic workers. In order to achieve the goals, the policy makers in realm of tertiary institutions intensively launching the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program as a continuation of the link and match program that had been existed for a long time. The program offers various types of activities that every student can participate in, one of which is an internship. Internship through the MBKM program are considered to be able to provide many benefits to the participants. However there are a number of term and condition in the program which actually can be detrimental to the participants themselves. This study aims to find out how the dynamics in the apprenticeship process in the MBKM program occurred and also to find out what are the vulnerabilities experienced by each participant when participating in the MBKM internship program, especially for Gadjah Mada University students. The type of research used is qualitative through descriptive analysis to describe and analyze the dynamics and various vulnerabilities experienced by apprentices who participated in the MBKM program. The process of observation and interviews were carried out as a data collection technique. The use of Guy Standing's precariat theory was used to analyze the vulnerabilities experienced by MBKM apprentices as precariat workers. The results of this study indicate that even though the MBKM program was established by the government and offers so many benefits, yet in fact the apprentices experience various types of acts of exploitation during the apprenticeship activities. Apprentices had encountered various risks which make their position vulnerable long before the internship takes place, such as during the registration and selection process. In addition, this study case research reveals that there are several aspects that pose risks to apprentices therefore their position becomes vulnerable, such as; 1) working hours; 2) workload; 3) wages; and, 4) social protection guarantees.
