Pengaruh Ekstrak Daun Oregano (Origanum vulgare) Sebagai Bahan Desinfektan terhadap Stabilitas Dimensi Bahan Cetak Irreversible Hydrocolloid

Irreversible hydrocolloid merupakan bahan cetak untuk pembuatan gigi tiruan. Pencetakan gigi dapat menjadi sumber infeksi silang karena saliva, darah, dan debris dapat menempel pada hasil cetakan. Ekstrak daun oregano merupakan desinfektan yang dapat mendesinfeksi bahan cetak karena mengandung senyawa antimikroba. Irreversible hydrocolloid bersifat imbibisi dan sineresis sehingga berisiko terjadi perubahan dimensi hasil cetakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji adanya pengaruh ekstrak daun oregano terhadap stabilitas dimensi bahan cetak irreversible hydrocolloid.

       Penelitian ini terdiri dari 27 sampel hasil cetakan irreversible hydrocolloid dan dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok perlakuan yaitu kelompok tanpa desinfeksi, kelompok desinfeksi NaOCl 0,5%, dan kelompok desinfeksi ekstrak daun oregano 15%. Data diperoleh dari pengukuran jarak garis anteroposterior dan jarak garis mediolateral. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analis uji Saphiro-Wilk, Levene’s test, dan uji ANAVA satu jalur.

        Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata perubahan dimensi garis anteroposterior tertinggi yaitu kelompok desinfeksi NaOCl 0,5% 0,082±0,0139 mm dan  terendah yaitu kelompok tanpa perlakuan 0,072±0,0109 mm. Rerata perubahan dimensi garis mediolateral tertinggi yaitu kelompok desinfeksi NaOCl 0,5% 0,084±0,0113 mm,  dan rerata perubahan dimensi terendah yaitu kelompok tanpa desinfeksi 0,078±0,0116 mm. Hasil uji ANAVA satu jalur menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang tidak bermakna (p>0,05) pada kedua garis. Kesimpulan menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh ekstrak daun oregano terhadap penurunan stabilitas dimensi bahan cetak irreversible hydrocolloid.

        Irreversible hydrocolloid is one of the materials used in denture impressions. An Impression of teeth can be a source of cross infection because saliva, blood, and debris can adhere to the impression. Oregano extract is a disinfectant that can disinfect surfaces because it contains antimicrobial compounds. Irreversible hydrocolloid have properties of imbibition and syneresis, which can risk dimensional changes in impressions. This study aims to determine the effect of  oregano extract on dimensional stability of irreversible hydrocolloid materials.

          This study consisted of 27 samples of irreversible hydrocolloid impressions and divided into 3 treatment group: the group without disinfection, the 0.5% NaOCl disinfection group, and the 15% oregano leaf extract disinfection group. Data obtained from measuring the distance of anteroposterior line and mediolateral line. This research was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene's test, and one way ANOVA test.

            The results showed that the highest mean change in anteroposterior line dimension was the 0.5% NaOCl disinfection group 0.082±0.0139 mm and the lowest was the group without treatment 0.072±0.0109 mm. The highest mean change in mediolateral line dimensions was the 0.5% NaOCl disinfection group 0.084±0.0113 mm, and the lowest mean dimensional change was the group without disinfection 0.078±0.0116 mm. The results of the ANOVA one way test showed that there was no significant difference (p>0.05) in the two lines. The conclusion shows that there is an effect of oregano leaf extract on decreasing the dimensional stability of the irreversible hydrocolloid impression material.
