Kucing merupakan salah satu hewan yang banyak dipelihara oleh masyarakat di Indonesia. Helminthiasis merupakan salah satu penyakit yang dapat diderita kucing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kejadian toxocariasis dan dipylidiasis pada kucing di Klinik Hewan Departemen Ilmu Penyakit Dalam Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Gadjah Mada periode Januari-Febuari 2023.
Sampel yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah 23 rekam medis dari 23 ekor kucing yang dilakukan pemeriksaan feses secara mikroskopis dengan uji natif dan uji apung. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 2 dari 23 (8,69%) sampel ditemukan positif telur Dipylidium sp. dan 1 dari 23 (4,34%) sampel positif telur Toxocara sp. Kucing penderita dypilidiasis adalah dipelihara dengan sistem outdoor/semi-outdoor, kucing penderita toxocariasis dipelihara dengan sistem outdoor. Disimpulkan bahwa kejadian helminthiasis bulan Januari-Febuari 2023 pada kucing di Klinik Hewan Departemen Ilmu Penyakit Dalam Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Gadjah Mada sebesar 13% terjadi pada kucing dengan pemeliharaan outdoor/ semi-outdoor
Cats are one of the animals that are kept by many people in Indonesia. Helminthiasis is a disease that cats can suffer from. This study aims to determine the incidence of toxocariasis and dipylidiasis in cats at the Veterinary Clinic, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gadjah Mada University for the period January-February 2023.
The samples used in this study were 23 medical records from 23 cats which were examined by microscopic faeces using the native test and the buoyancy test. Research data were analyzed descriptively.
The results of this study showed that 2 out of 23 (8.69%) samples were positive for Dipylidium sp. eggs and 1 of 23 (4.34%) positive samples of Toxocara sp eggs. Cats with dyspilidiasis are kept in an outdoor/semi-outdoor system, cats with toxocariasis are kept in an outdoor system. It was concluded that the incidence of helminthiasis in January-February 2023 in cats at the Veterinary Clinic, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Gadjah Mada University, was 13% and occurred in cats with outdoor/semi-outdoor maintenance.
