Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengaruh karakteristik rumah tangga peternak dan menguji pengaruh karakteristik rumah tangga peternak terhadap curahan waktu kerja keluarga peternak sapi perah. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat melengkapi data empiris tentang pemeliharaan sapi perah sehingga dapat mengetahui pengaruh karakteristik rumah tangga peternak terhadap curahan waktu kerja keluarga, serta sumber informasi kepada peternak sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan keluarga. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey dan wawancara. Sebanyak 36 peternak sapi perah dijadikan sebagai responden. Data yang diambil meliputi karakteristik peternak dan waktu kerja keluarga peternak sapi perah. Karakteristik rumah tangga peternak dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Pengaruh karakteristik rumah tangga peternak terhadap curaham waktu kerja keluarga peternak dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anggota keluarga yang terlibat dalam curahan waktu kerja pada pemeliharaan sapi perah adalah sebesar 687,64 ± 244,73 HOK/tahun/keluarga. Variabel yang berpengaruh yaitu jumlah sapi perah yang dipelihara. Variabel yang tidak berpengaruh yaitu persentase keluarga yang berusia produktif, persentase keluarga yang telah menempuh pendidikan dasar 12 tahun, persentase keluarga yang bekerja diluar usaha tani, jumlah sumber pendapatan keluarga, dan penguasaan lahan pertanian.

This study aims to identify the effect of the characteristics of the farmer's household and examine the effect of the characteristics of the farmer's household on the working time of the dairy farmer's family. This research is expected to be able to complete empirical data on the maintenance of dairy cows so that it can determine the effect of household characteristics of breeders on family work time, as well as sources of information for farmers so that they can increase family income. The research was conducted using survey and interview methods. A total of 36 dairy farmers were used as respondents. The data taken includes the characteristics of the farmer and the working time of the dairy farmer's family. Farmer household characteristics were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The influence of the characteristics of the farmer's household on the working time of the farmer's family was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the family members involved in working time on the maintenance of dairy cows were 687.64 ± 244.73 HOK/year/family. The influential variable is the number of dairy cows kept. Variables that have no effect are the percentage of families of productive age, the percentage of families who have completed 12 years of primary education, the percentage of families working outside of farming, the number of family income sources, and control over agricultural land.
