Prevalensi Strongylosis pada Sapi Potong di Kabupaten Bantul dan Kabupaten Kulon Progo

Strongylosis merupakan penyakit parasitik gastrointestinal pada sapi yang disebabkan oleh sekelompok besar nematoda yang disebut cacing tipe strongyle. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui prevalensi strongylosis pada sapi potong di Kabupaten Bantul dan Kabupaten Kulon Progo, dengan harapan dapat memberikan informasi mengenai kasus penyakit strongylosis agar persebaran penyakit ini dapat ditekan.

Pada penelitian ini, penulis mengumpulkan sampel feses sapi potong secara acak dari kandang kelompok maupun ternak individu masyarakat Kabupaten Bantul dan Kulon Progo. Sampel feses tersebut kemudian diuji dengan metode sentrifugasi untuk memeriksa ada tidaknya telur strongyle pada feses tersebut. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, prevalensi strongylosis pada sapi potong di Kabupaten Bantul sebesar 52,54?n di Kabupaten Kulon Progo sebesar 21,88%

Strongylosis is a parasitic gastrointestinal disease in cattle caused by a large group of nematodes called the strongyles. This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of strongylosis in beef cattle in Bantul Regency and Kulon Progo Regency, so that it is hoped that it can provide information of strongylosis to prevent the spread of the disease.

In this study, the author collected random fecal samples from cattle farms and individuals in Bantul Regency and Kulon Progo Regency. The samples were examined by using centrifuge methods to determine the prevalence of strongylosis infection in the beef cattle. The result showed the prevalence rate of strongylosis infection in beef cattle at Bantul Regency was 52,54% and Kulon Progo Regency was 21,88%.
