Ekologi Akustik Wisdom Park Universitas Gadjah Mada sebagai Basis Data Biodiversitas dan Penciptaan Komposisi Musik

Ekologi akustik adalah bidang yang mengeksplorasi hubungan antara suara dan lingkungan. Komposisi musik soundscape adalah pendekatan kreatif terhadap ekologi akustik yang meningkatkan kesadaran berbagai komunitas mengenai soundscape lokal, khususnya di Kota Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan rekaman suara yang didokumentasikan dari Wisdom Park Universitas Gadjah Mada dalam memproyeksikan statistik lingkungan akustik, dan juga untuk menciptakan komposisi musik soundscape. Dokumentasi yang dihasilkan dari suara yang direkam memberikan wawasan yang unik terhadap komposisi akustik yang hadir di Wisdom Park Universitas Gadjah Mada. Rekaman menunjukkan burung Passeriformes sebagai biofoni yang mendominasi, air dalam geofoni, dan kendaraan bermotor dalam antrofoni baik secara spasial maupun temporal. Hasil juga menunjukkan suara antroponik dengan intensitas tinggi menutupi sebagian besar ruang frekuensi yang digunakan dalam komunikasi biofonik. Perbedaan ketersediaan dan jenis vegetasi, tanah, dan danau mempengaruhi tingkat penyerapan kebisingan. Pembacaan spektogram menunjukkan bahwa dari tiga titik pengambilan sampel, Danau dan Taman Sekitarnya memiliki kondisi lingkungan terbaik dalam menyerap kebisingan. Komposisi soundscape yang dihasilkan berfungsi untuk merepresentasikan soundscape Wisdom Park Universitas Gadjah Mada sekaligus sebagai media dalam melontarkan ekologi akustik ke dalam komunitas umum.

Acoustic ecology is a field that explores the relationship between sound and the environment. Musical soundscape composition is a creative approach to acoustic ecology that raises awareness in communities about local soundscapes, specifically in Yogyakarta City. This study aims to utilize sound recordings documented from Gadjah Mada University’s Wisdom Park in projecting statistics of the acoustic environment, and also from it in creating soundscape composition. The resulting documentation of the recorded sounds provides a unique insight towards the acoustic composition present in Gadjah Mada University’s Wisdom Park. Recording suggests passerine birds as the dominating biophony, water in geophony, and motor vehicles in anthrophony either spacially or temporally. Results also show anthrophonic noise with high intensity masks most frequency spaces that are used in biophonic communications. The difference in the availability and types of vegetation, soil, and lake affects the absorption level of white noises. Spectrogram readings suggest that out of three sampling spots, the Lake and the Surrounding Garden has the best environment condition in absorbing white noises. The resulting soundscape composition serves to represent the soundscape of Gadjah Mada University’s Wisdom Park as well as a medium in catapulting acoustic ecology into the mainstream community.
