A study has been conducted to evaluate the change of species composition, development of species abundance, community, species diversity and the trend cf succession of previously 1, 2, 3 and 4 year burnt alangalang areas in South Kalimantan. The study 1•;as done using "side by side compa?-isor:" The species of plant which found in 2, 3 da:i 4 tt-ie study a?ea were observed and grouped based on the stage of growth those w?re undergrowth, seedling, sapling, pole and t?ee species, using the several parameters such as: biomass, number of species, individual number of each species? diameter of the tree? basal area and the height of ;;;ubjected to vegetation analysis such as impc?tant value index, cluster analysis and index of diversity to knew the trend of successi or: after bLt::-r-:i r:g. The result of this study showed that the burnt alang-alang la?d performed a precess of succession which characterized by the change cf species composition, occured to analysis, abudance and its diversity.
