Validasi Struktur Internal Big Five Inventory Menggunakan Data Indonesian Family Life Survey

Banyak survei nasional memasukkan skala kepribadian ke dalam modul survei mereka. Salah satunya, Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) yang menggunakan Big Five Inventory (BFI). Namun, masih belum jelas apakah BFI cocok untuk populasi Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menginvestigasi validitas struktur internal BFI menggunakan data Indonesian Family Life Survey kelima (IFLS5). Sampel penelitian adalah 31.446 individu (Musia = 38,27; SDusia = 14,98) yang berasal dari 27 provinsi di Indonesia. Instrumen penelitian adalah 15-Item Big Five Inventory (BFI-15). Analisis struktur faktor menunjukkan kecocokan model pengukuran BFI-15 yang memuaskan dengan data. Selanjutnya, analisis invariansi pengukuran menunjukkan ekuivalensi struktur faktor, muatan faktor, dan intersep model pengukuran BFI-15 antarkelompok jenis kelamin, usia, pendidikan, dan status sosial ekonomi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan BFI-15 dapat digunakan untuk populasi Indonesia yang heterogen. Namun, nilai Cronbach's alpha menunjukkan tingkat reliabilitas skala yang rendah. Oleh karena itu, skor BFI-15 sebaiknya dianalisis menggunakan model variabel laten (misalnya, model persamaan struktural).

Many national surveys integrated personality scales into their survey modules. One example is the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS), which utilizes the Big Five Inventory (BFI). However, it is unclear whether BFI is appropriate for the Indonesian population. As a result, this study aims to investigate the validity of the BFI's internal structure using data from the fifth Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS5). The study included 31,446 individuals as its samples (Mage = 38.27; SDage = 14.98) from 27 Indonesian provinces. The research instrument that was used is the 15-Item Big Five Inventory (BFI-15). Analysis of the structural factor revealed that the BFI-15 measurement model complemented the data successfully. Furthermore, analysis of the measurement invariance showed the comparability of the factor structure, factor loadings, and intercepts of the BFI-15 measurement model across gender, age, education, and socioeconomic status groups. The findings of this research indicate that BFI-15 can be used for a heterogeneous Indonesian population. However, the Cronbach's alpha value appears to indicate that the scale has a low level of reliability. As a result, the BFI-15 score should be analyzed using latent variable models (e.g., structural equation models).
