STUDI ZONASI VEGETASI MANGROVE DI TELUK GILIMANUK TAMAN NASIONAL BALI BARAT PROPINSI BALI

Mangrove mempunyai peran fungsi yang sangat penting, baik sebagai fungsi ekologis maupun fungsi ekonomis. Karena itu pengelolaan serta pemerflfaatannya harus diperhatikan agar terjaga kelestariannya. Dalam upaya mempertahankan kelestarian hutan mangrove, informasi komposisi serta pola zonasi vegetasi sangat diperlukan, terutama dalam hubungannya dengan faktor lingkungan yang akan mempengaruhi komposisi serta pola zonasi vegetasi hutan mangrove tersebut. Study ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) komposisi jenis penyusun, 2) Pola pengelompokan atau zonasi vegetasi, 3) Pengaruh faktor lingkungan (sifat fisik tanah, sifat kimia tanah dan air serta pasang surut } terhadap pengelompokan atau zonasi vegetasi. Areal penelitian dibagi menjadi 2 blok. Pada setiap blok di buat jalur­jalur lebar 50 meter, dan panjang 500 meter sejajar garis pantai, secara berurutan mulai dari arah laut sampai ke arah darat. Satu jalur ditetapkan sebagai satu releve. Masing- masing blok terdiri dari 8 releve. Pada setiap jalur (releve) dibuat petak pengamatan ukuran 10 x 10 meter untuk pohon, 5 x 5 meter untuk sapihan dan 2 x 2 meter untuk semai. Data dianalisis dengan menghitung indeks nilai panting, indeks kesamaan dan indeks ketidaksamaan. Pola zonasi vegetasi dianalisis dengan ordinasi 2 dimensi. Hubungan pola zonasi vegetasi dengan faktor lingkungan di analisis dengan korelasi sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis penyusun tingkat sapihan dan pohon didominasi oleh Sonneratia alba J. Smith, Rhizophora apiculata Blume, Ceriops tagal {Perrottet) C.B. Robinson, Avicennia marina {Forsk.) Vierh., Xylocarpus granatum Koenig dan Excoecaria agallocha L. Terdapat 3 zonasi dari arah laut ke arah darat. Zonasi berhubungan dengan faktor lingkungan: sifat kimia tanah dan air; meliputi kandungan P, Ca, dan Na, salinitas air, salinitas tanah; sifat fisika tanah meliputi tekstur tanah (kandungan pasir, debu dan lempung) dan kedalaman lumpur; pasang surut meliputi lama penggenangan dan frekuensi penggenangan.

Mangrove plays an important function role either ecologically or economically. Management and exploitation of mangrove area are therefore should be done judiciously in order to make it sustainable. To maintain conservation of the area, the information of composition and zonation of vegetation, is very important, especially in relation to the inviromental factors which can influence composition and zonation. The present study has the objective of determining : 1) species compotition of mangrove area , 2) zonation of mangrove vegetation , 3) effect of environment factor ( chemical properties of soil and water , phisical properties of soil , and tidal). Study area was divided into 2 blocks, in each block, eight observational strips of 50 m width and 500 length were made. The strips were parallel to the coastal line, from sea ward to land ward. One strip determined as one releve. In each strip (releve), plot of size 10x10 m for tree observation, 5x5 m for sapling observation were made. Index of important value, index of similarities, index of dissimiliraties, were computed. Zonation pattern was analyzed using 2 dimensional ordination method. Relationship of environmental factors to zonation was analyzed using simple correlation. The result indicated that vegetation composition at sapling and tree stage was dominated by Sonneratia alba J. Smith, Rhizophora apiculata Blume, Cariops tagal (Perrottet) C.B. Robinson, Avicennia marina (Forsk.) Vierh., Xylocarpus granatum Koenig and Excoecaria agallocha L. There are three coastal line paralleled zones. These zones were related to environmental factors : chemichal properties soil and water which involved the content of P, Kand Na, soil salinity, water salinity; physical properties of soil which involved texture ( sand, silt and clay) ; the depth of mud and tidal which involved frequency of inundation and duration of inundation.
