Correlation Between Liver Function and Chemotherapy Response in Ovarian Cancer Patients Receiving Platinum-Based Chemotherapy at RSUP Dr Sardjito

LATAR BELAKANG: Kemoterapi pada kanker ovarium dengan menggunakan platinum sudah mulai banyak diterapkan. Hal ini dikarenakan kemoterapi berbasis platinum sebagai bentuk terapi pada pasien kanker ovarium memberikan tingkat kelangsungan hidup yang tinggi. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan fungsi hati dengan respon kemoterapi berbasis platinum pada pasien kanker ovarium di RSUP Dr. Sardjito. TUJUAN: Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk menganalisis hubungan antara fungsi hati dengan respon terhadap kemoterapi berbasis platinum pada pasien kanker ovarium di RSUP Dr. Sardjito. METODE: Data retrospektif dari rekam medis RSUP Dr. Sarjito tahun 2019-2021 dari pasien kanker ovarium yang mendapatkan kemoterapi berbasis platinum digunakan sebagai data analisis. Korelasi fungsi hati dan variabel perancu dengan respon kemoterapi dianalisis menggunakan uji fisher exact, selanjutnya kedua variabel tersebut dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi logistik HASIL: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara respon kemoterapi dan gangguan fungsi hati. Indikator fungsi hati, yaitu ALT (p = 0,265), AST (p =0,499) dan albumin (p = 0,514) memiliki nilai p > 0,05 pada uji Fisher Exact. Stadium kanker menjadi satu-satunya hasil signifikan dengan respon kemoterapi dengan p = 0,01 dan OR = 7,5. Respon terhadap kemoterapi dengan usia pasien (p = 0,598) dan tipe histologi (p = 0,210) tidak ditemukan signifikan (p > 0,05).

BACKGROUND: Chemotherapy in ovarian cancer with platinum-based has started to be widely implemented. This is because platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer provides a high survival rate. This study analyzed the correlation between liver function and response to platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze the correlation between liver function and response to platinum-based chemotherapy in ovarian cancer patients at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. METHODS: This study uses retrospective data from the medical records of RSUP Dr. Sarjito in 2019-2021 of ovarian cancer patients who received platinum-based chemotherapy. Correlation liver function and confounding variables tested using fisher exact test, after that both liver function and confounding variables tested by logistic regression. RESULTS: There is no significant relationship between chemotherapy response and impaired liver function. All liver function indicator i.e., ALT (p = 0.265), AST (p = 0.499) and albumin (p = 0.514) have probability > 0,05 in exact fisher test. A significant association of chemotherapy response was found with cancer stage with p = 0.01 and OR = 7.5. Response to chemotherapy with the patient's age (p = 0.598) and histological type (p = 0.210) was not found to be significant(p > 0.05).
