Hubungan Perceived Stress dan Adiksi Bermain Game Online

Adiksi bermain game online merupakan salah satu gangguan adiksi yang tengah menjadi topik penelitian hangat karena efeknya membuat individu berperilaku impulsif, tidak peduli terhadap pembentukan maupun mempertahankan relasi, dan kemunculan gejala secara fisik maupun mental ketika individu tersebut tidak dapat bermain game online. Salah satu faktor pengaruh kemunculan adiksi bermain game online adalah faktor internal yakni perceived stress. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perceived stress dengan adiksi bermain game online. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara perceived stress dan adiksi bermain game online. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 189 mahasiswa S1 dengan rentang usia 17-25 tahun, terdiri dari 135 (71%) perempuan dan 54 laki-laki (29%). Analisis data penelitian dengan menggunakan metode korelasi product moment menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara perceived stress dengan adiksi bermain game online pada mahasiswa (r=0,368; p<0,01). Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa perceived stress merupakan faktor internal yang mendorong kemunculan gejala adiksi bermain game online.

Internet gaming addiction is a mental disorder that has become a hot topic between researchers due to its effects to beget individual to act impulsively, disregard towards establishing or maintaining relationships, and emerge physical and mental symptoms when the individual is unable to continue playing online games. One of the determining factors to the occurrence of internet gaming addiction is the internal factor known as perceived stress. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between perceived stress and internet gaming addiction. The hypothesis of this study is that there is positive relation between perceived stress and internet gaming addiction. The participants of this study consist of 189 undergraduate students within the range of 17-25 years old, with 135 (71%) participants are female and 54 participants are males (29%). The data were analyzed by product moment analysis and shows that there is a relation between perceived stress and internet gaming addiction in undergraduate students (r=0,368; p<0,01). This study suggests that perceived stress has been an internal factor to the occurrence of internet gaming disorder symptom.
