Subjektivitas dalam Novel Manusia Langit Karya J.A. Sonjaya sebagai Cerita Perjalanan Kontemporer

Novel Manusia Langit karya J.A. Sonjaya merupakan salah satu novel sastra perjalanan kontemporer. Novel ini menceritakan perjalanan tokoh Mahendra yang berasal dari Yogyakarta ke Daerah Banuaha di Nias. Meskipun masih dalam lingkup satu negara, perbedaan antara diri dan liyan tetap ada. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengungkap subjektivitas yang terdapat dalam novel Manusia Langit dan mengungkap hubungan subjektivitas dengan wacana di luar teks. Untuk mencapai tujuan penelitian tersebut digunakan teori sastra perjalanan dari Debbie Lisle dan Carl Thompson. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode simak, sedangkan metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode permutasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa novel Manusia Langit yang termasuk novel kontemporer menunjukkan subjektivitas kolonial dan kosmopolitan. Percampuran yang kontradiktif antara subjektivitas kolonial dan kosmopolitan di atas mungkin disebabkan oleh pengaruh subjektivitas turistik karena diri yang pulang dalam keadaan tidak menjadi subjek baru (new man). Hal tersebut dipengaruhi karena banyaknya wacana di luar teks baik yang mengusung pluralisme, kolonialisme, maupun wacana turistik pada saat novel tersebut ditulis. The novel Manusia Langit by J.A. Sonjaya is one of the contemporary travel writing novels. This novel tells the journey of Mahendra from Yogyakarta to the Banuaha area on Nias. Although it is still within the scope of one country, the difference between self and other still exists. The purpose of this study is to uncover the subjectivity contained in the novel Manusia Langit and uncover the relationship of subjectivity with discourse outside the text. To achieve the purpose of the study used the theory of travel writing from Debbie Lisle and Carl Thompson. The data collection method used is in-depth reading method, while the analysis method used is the permutation method. The results of this study state that the novel Manusia Langit which belongs to contemporary novels show colonial and cosmopolitan subjectivity. The contradictory mixing of colonial and cosmopolitan subjectivity above may be due to the influence of touristic subjectivity because the returning self in a state does not become a new subject (new man). This was influenced by the large number of discourses outside the text, both those that carried pluralism, colonialism, and touristic discourse at the time the novel was written.
