Pengaruh Kombinasi Platelet-rich Fibrin dan Xenograft pada Perawatan Defek Tulang Alveolar

Defek tulang alveolar pada penyakit periodontal disebabkan oleh adanya akumulasi plak bakteri yang dapat merusak jaringan periodontal dan mengganggu proses remodeling tulang. Perawatan terhadap defek tulang alveolar diperlukan untuk mencegah perluasan lesi yang lebih parah dan terjadinya kehilangan gigi. Kombinasi platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) dan material cangkok tulang xenograft menjadi salah satu material yang berpotensi dalam perawatan defek tulang alveolar. Narrative review ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh kombinasi PRF dan xenograft terhadap perbaikan jaringan pada perawatan defek tulang alveolar. Narrative review ini mengulas literatur yang berasal dari database PubMed, Scopus, dan Google Scholar yang dipublikasikan dari tahun 2012 hingga 2022. Literatur yang digunakan adalah artikel penelitian dan studi kasus berbahasa Inggris yang termasuk dalam Quartile Q1-Q4 Scimago Journal & Country Rank. Literatur yang tidak dapat diakses full paper dan tidak dilengkapi dengan metode penelitian dieliminasi dalam narrative review ini. Dalam keterbatasan studi ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi PRF dan xenograft dalam perawatan defek tulang alveolar berpengaruh pada parameter klinis, berupa penurunan kedalaman poket dan peningkatan perlekatan klinis serta parameter radiografis berupa pengisian tulang. Adanya kombinasi efek dari PRF dan xenograft yang bersifat sinergis mendukung terjadinya perbaikan jaringan yang efektif.

Alveolar bone defects in periodontal disease are caused by the accumulation of bacterial plaque which can damage the periodontal tissue and interfere with the bone remodeling process. Treatment of alveolar bone defects is necessary to prevent further extension of the lesion and tooth loss. The combination of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) and xenograft bone graft material is one of the potential materials in the treatment of alveolar bone defects. This narrative review was aimed to examine the effect of the combination of PRF and xenograft on tissue regeneration in the treatment of alveolar bone defects. The databases used in the literature search were PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar which were published from 2012 to 2022. The literature used is research articles and case studies included in Quartile Q1-Q4 Scimago Journal & Country Rank. Literature that cannot be accessed in full paper and is not equipped with research methods is eliminated in this narrative review. Within the limitations of this study, it can be concluded that the combination of PRF and xenograft has a good effect on treating alveolar bone defects through its ability to improve clinical parameters (reduced pocket depth and increased clinical attachment level) and radiographic parameter (bone filling). Effective tissue regeneration is due to the synergistic effects of PRF and xenograft.
